World War Z: Aftermath Announced

Saber Interactive announces World War Z: Aftermath, another co-op shooter inspired by the zombie movie coming to PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox one later this year. And while this will be playable on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S via backwards compatibility, a native version for those systems will also follow next year. Word is the original World War Z game recently celebrated its 15 millionth player, and owners of that game will receive a loyalty discount on the new one. The follow up promises 4K|60 fps gameplay, a new melee combat system, a new first-person mode, full crossplay on PC and consoles, and more. The Reveal Trailer offers a look. Here are more details:

It was an EGS freebie at least once, I doubt they'll give you a discount on Steam for having it there. Mildly amusing that this is releasing on Steam at all, since it came out in the trial document dump that WWZ was contractually a "lifetime exclusive." Apparently tacking on a subtitle and making it a standalone expansion (which, yes, includes everything that the existing GOTY edition does) lets them get around that.

You're right, I do have it from a giveaway on EGS, and yes, the $20 is only if you buy WWZ:A on EGS, not on Steam.

According to EGS I have 35min played in WWZ, I guess I wasn't that impressed.

So this is basically not a full sequel, just a remastered WWZ game(with some added content) for Steam/consoles? Which is fine, just wondering if we should expect it to be at like $30 or $60, etc.

I was somewhat interested when it was on EGS, but not enough to buy it there. They had a free weekend or something? I remember it being merely okay.

*EDIT* According to Steam forum people, $40 for new people, $20 if you already have WWZ, on EGS I assume.

Agree as well. This sort of grindy constantly mowing down the masses gets old really quick IMO. I much prefer the DL/DI experience.

I kinda just want a calm zombie game where the zombies can literally ignore you and you can walk by them. Then on occasion they sense you and try to go after you. I'll say, I think Dead Island got it down perfect. Still can't believe we don't have part 2 yet.

These swarm type games are Okay but get tiring after a while where it's just endling spraying.

Is this coming to Steam initially? Or only after another Epic exclusivity period?

This was one of the Epic exclusives that was actually worth picking up in my opinion. The co-op campaign is fun, and the horde mode is great. I'm looking forward to picking this up on Steam.
I pwnz j00!
