eh, this is one of those games you have to play with a guide, to figure out how to play it. heavy time investment to fully enjoy it. people really love the world building aspect, but the difficulty is not linear, you get periodic extinction level events and you have to know what you are doing to not get wiped.

I almost bought this after listening to the review on 3 Moves Ahead. My backlog is epic, so I held off. That paid off.

I got it on GoG when it was on sale. I started three campaigns; the first was a starter which it just throws you right in and I failed miserably, the second I did a little better and failed miserably, and the third got a few steps further along then failed miserably.

It's very depressing to play. It doesn't seem like any decision you make comes with any positive results, just the least worst decision. The difficulty increases quickly through the campaign and even though it forces you to spin a lot of plates at once right off the bat, I could never seem to keep up with the demands. I probably didn't play it right or it just wasn't for me.

I may try again when the sun finally decides to come out from behind clouds after the 10th straight day of rain or it just may force me into a corner, curled up, and sobbing.

EGS is slowly releasing everything I've bought on GoG for free.

This game is very depressing. It's well done of course, but I have yet to finish it; people struggling just to live is a bit too serious for my builder-strategy mindset.

It's a pretty good, if fairly unforgiving, city management game. So if that sounds like it's your type of game, it's a good one...and at free, you have nothing to really lose.
