2K Launcher Sightings [May 30, 2021, 12:54 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments

thread on ResetEra notes that a 2K Launcher has started popping up when
certain 2K games are run on Steam. There's a screenshot of the launcher and
posts confirming that this showed up not that long ago in Civilization VI and
Mafia III. The thread was provoked by it now appearing in the Mafia: Definitive
Edition, so the implication is its use is becoming more widespread.

I also tried it with CivilizationVI_DX12.Exe in the same folder and got the launcher again. Did you point to a sub-folder that looks much different than mine?
That launcher is a complete mess.
Took me over 10 minutes to start Civ VI and maxed out my hard drive usage.
edit - I just created a shortcut to CivilizationVI.exe on my desktop. works fine.
