It was included on Epic games store with Mafia 1 Definitive Edition that I bought last week.
Sadly the remake crashed/froze 4 times in less than 2 hours so I refunded it. Such a disappointment since it looked great and I was a huge fan of Mafia 1 back in the day.
The remake is a buggy disaster though in terms of stability.

I haven't played in a while, but I recall XCOM 2 forums being aflame when they did something to the old launcher, and it broke a lot of things...
Why the hell would anyone want yet another launcher?!

Thanks!afka Rossini wrote on May 30, 2021, 17:36:Krazy Kat wrote on May 30, 2021, 15:33:I just created a shortcut that points to C:\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization VI\Base\Binaries\Win64Steam\CivilizationVI.exe and it still brought up the launcher. I also tried it with CivilizationVI_DX12.Exe in the same folder and got the launcher again. Did you point to a sub-folder that looks much different than mine?
That launcher is a complete mess.
Took me over 10 minutes to start Civ VI and maxed out my hard drive usage.
edit - I just created a shortcut to CivilizationVI.exe on my desktop. works fine.
Mine was in "C:\Program Files\Epic Games\SidMeiersCivilizationVI\Base\Binaries\Win64EOS\CivilizationVI.exe"
If it's a Steam thing, there is another workaround.

CivVI has had a 2k launcher for so long that there are threads from 2018 telling you how to skip it. They may of course have updated it to be a more generic 2k launcher than just a CivVI launcher, but it's not new.
