I dunno man. You might want to check your system. I had the game and had ZERO crashes. I had a lot of fun with it but maybe never realized from the original game, there are so many areas in the world that you don't go to from the story. Like a lot of unused details they put into the game that can go unnoticed unless you explore. I'm not sure why they didn't add maybe side quests into the game that could take you around the city more or the rural areas. I know they wanted to make it as accurate to the original as possible, but I think they could of expanded a bit on the game while keeping the original story intact.

Eitherway, yeah I dunno about this launcher info or really ever cared. Game ran like a champ on my aging rig and it was satisfying to beat.

They added a new launcher to xcom2 when Chimera squad was released, and it basically broke mod functionality in xcom2. Thankfully there is a community launcher on github as an alternative.

I play Civ VI almost every day and it seems like the launcher changed from Firaxis to 2K with the April 2021 update. At the very least the look changed dramatically.

P.S. I don't know if it's the launcher or something else from the April update but Civ VI is now crashing so much I've set it to autosave after every turn.
