2K Launcher Sightings [May 30, 2021, 12:54 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments

thread on ResetEra notes that a 2K Launcher has started popping up when
certain 2K games are run on Steam. There's a screenshot of the launcher and
posts confirming that this showed up not that long ago in Civilization VI and
Mafia III. The thread was provoked by it now appearing in the Mafia: Definitive
Edition, so the implication is its use is becoming more widespread.

CivVI has had a 2k launcher for so long that there are threads from 2018 telling you how to skip it. They may of course have updated it to be a more generic 2k launcher than just a CivVI launcher, but it's not new.
I play Civ VI almost every day and it seems like the launcher changed from Firaxis to 2K with the April 2021 update. At the very least the look changed dramatically.
P.S. I don't know if it's the launcher or something else from the April update but Civ VI is now crashing so much I've set it to autosave after every turn.
