I don't have the statements pulled up but I remember finding it difficult to get an accurate sense of Xbox specific profitability given that all Windows revenue is grouped with it. The industry scuttlebutt for the longest time has been that Xbox has been essentially treading water at best and unprofitable in general. I'm sure the pandemic and launch of the new console has helped in the short term though. But obviously this is Internet Analyst stuff, I'm sure they have over-qualified accountants figuring out the right mix of revenue share. I am just being saucy, it seems a bit nuts to downsize the revenue share if they are losing money on the consoles already, must be some pretty crazy growth they are counting on. Of course I am sure the Gamepass train will get its fee increases at some point, although I guess nothing is unsustainable for one of the worlds richest companies.

I sorta get what you're saying, but I believe that Microsoft's Gaming Division might be profitable, but they are correct that they have never made money of the hardware units themselves. So ya major IP's for Microsoft/Xbox but where are they now? Fable is gone, Crackdown faded away to nothing, so all you have left is Halo and Forza. Flight Sim might bring back some brand recog, but is it enough for the company? Considering the huge push of putting all their games/exclusives on Steam it doesn't look good.
