Out of the Blue

The beastly logo we're showing off as of today in desktop view is from X2: Wolverine's Revenge, the X-Men fighting game that came to Windows in North America on April 15, 2003, just a couple of weeks before the premiere of X2, aka X2: X-Men United, aka X-Men 2. Interestingly, while the game featured the voice of Sir Patrick Stewart as Professor Charles Xavier, most of the rest of the characters were not voiced by the actors who played them in the movies. The voice of Wolverine was played by Mark Hamill, almost two decades before he and Stewart reunited to work out their daddy issues. Kudos to Walter "2" Costinak for the original logo, and hats off to Dave for fixing it up for our current format.

During my eastcoast road trip in a shopping mall, I was in one of those toilet wings of the mall (where all the pompous coziness of the mall is replaced with that of an oil platform) waiting for my girlfriend. There was this other guy in the hall with a fucking kimono and what seemed like same kind of harness below it. He was shouting weird shit and I was near certain he would pull an assault rifle out from under his kimono.

In The Netherlands I would've just looked at a weird guy. In the US, I thought I was looking at a soon to be mass murderer with me being one of his victims.

I feel sorry for you guys that this constant fear is your reality, or should be your reality for proper self-preservation.

Pff.. imagine how your cops must feel.
Hey, did you listen to the latest Sam Harris podcast with Rener Gracie? Good explanations on why American police behave the way they do, and solutions to prevent a lot of the senseless killing by police.

Finally got to it. That was a good podcast. Could have been shorter to make its point but whatever. Sadly most people shouting "Defund the police!" won't ever listen to this podcast nor read about the data mentioned in it. After all, Sam's voice is a bit monotonous, lol...

I'm dying to get to that one! Been a very busy dad and partner, what with another one on the way. She's weaker than her first pregnancy somehow, so I'm the worker bee inside and outside the house for a while.

I'll get back to you here on what I thought of the podcast once I finally get to it! =)

The incident marks at least the 45th mass shooting in the United States since the Atlanta-area spa shootings on March 16. CNN considers an incident to be a mass shooting if four or more people, excluding the gunman, are shot and wounded or killed.

No problem with guns here, move along.

Bruh, Y U hate 2nd amendment? My AR-15 keeps the government from becoming a tyrannical authoritarian regime!

I lived many years in Japan, where almost no one has guns, often not even the police. It was nice living in such safety. I could walk the three miles home from the bar section in my city of 1.5 million people at 2AM without a worry of being mugged, shot, etc. I often saw single young women walking home alone at the same time. Japan is not a perfect country/society, but this part was definitely something that was done well.

Stepmom, she married my 80yo pops.

I’m pretty sure they’re going to kill her.
Here’s the latest update:
“ Doc said her lungs sound better...but
Her White blood cell count is high. The infection is raging. They’re waking her up every nanosecond to have her cough and try to produce some sputum to see what bacteria is running amok. Plus various breathing treatments. They’re trying two new (different/other) antibiotics.”
Best guess is two or three more days in the hospital.
Of course she’s more concerned about her skittish cats of which I’m trying not to cull too many. I’ve called my cat wrangler friend and told him that I’ve only seen half of the cats she has and he says oh if you seen half that I have “some” street cred. lol
