The only thing worse than Discovery, are rabid Discovery apologists. Now I'm not saying that any of you guys fall into that category, but people who blindly defend this show are akin to religious fanatics who are able to believe two contradictory things at the same time.

Yes. Sorry if that was a spoiler. I won't spoil it any further, but at the end of the season two they show why no one in Starfleet has ever heard of Discovery (including higher ups).
Well, for better or worse, I believe that has probably increased the likeliness I'll actually attempt to watch Discovery now.

Edit: Unfortunately it looks like currently only Paramount has all three seasons available.

Because CBS All-Access merged with Paramount to create Paramount+. I guess Paramount/CBS want to compete with Disney+.

Wait.. the third season of Discovery jumps 900 years into the future of the first two seasons? Okay... that's an interesting decision....

Season three is my second favorite season. My first is season two, with Captain Pike. It is why I'm looking forward to Strange New Worlds. The cast promised it'll be a return to the old episodic style the older series used to do. We will get to learn more about Pike and more about how Spock becomes the Spock we know from TOS. Thumbsup

I'm amazed they're still producing that Malon antimatter waste.

I may continue with discovery but lower decks doesn't have shit on Solar Opposites.

So ya wanna be a sword guy like Sulu? It can totally be your thing!

I really didn't like Discovery (still hate the non-attached nacelles), but once it moved into the future, and the line "You make a wonderful first impression" I fell in love with the show. Because the way I understand it is that there are now 3 timelines. Prime (shows and movies except Discovery and the reboot) the Kelvin timeline (the reboots) and then Discovery. Am I mistaken in this (TL;DR googling the 800 million answers).

Discovery is set 900 years into the future of the Prime timeline. The first two seasons occur in the prime timeline, with the third jumping 900 years into the future. The Kelvin timeline was a one-off thing that J.J. Abrams invented. Paramount and CBS ended it after the third film.

In principle, any Star Trek shows like Picard, Strange New Worlds (I'm looking forward to this the most), Section 31, or any others in the prime timeline past could create a ripple effect that crosses over into Discovery.

Edit: Just thought of one thing. The showrunners have to be careful not to break continuity or retcon stuff. What happens in Picard, Strange New Worlds, and Section 31 will affect Discovery timeline-wise.
