I have a hard time justifying cpu watercooling as nice as that mobo looks. The Noctua cooler on my Threadripper 2950X is pretty much silent and performs great. The CPU overclocks itself so I have almost no need to mess with that. All I really care about is stability and water cooling seems like a step backwards (for cpus).

What's really amusing--well, to me, anyway--is discovering that the most expensive $1k-$1.5k Z590 mboards support PCIe4 about as well as AMD's B550 value chipset mboards. Not even close to x570-level support--released 20 months ago.
It is well known that I cannot err--and so, if you should happen across an error in anything I have written you can be absolutely sure that *I* did not write it!...;)

That motherboard is gorgeous!!

Urghh.... Am I the only one to find this kind of design covering the whole board in mostly useless plastic ( except the actual cooling bits ) ugly and a waste of resources?

Not useless plastic, heat-spreading metal.

For €1500 (whatever that means, I'm assuming $75 or $30 dollars) it should mine bitcoin and run a child slavery ring with no additional input required, returning all profits after taxes to an offshore bank account.

Those colors are just examples, anything with RGB lights on it nowadays is fully-customizable, or you can just turn them off completely and be left with black and steel.

It is a nice piece of industrial design. I really can't stand purple though so that would be a no sale for me.
