Totally worth it to pick up Dead Island Definitive Edition and Riptide Edition. They're a blast to play and look good. They start slow but eventually pick up and become hella addicting. More melee combat driven I think than Dying Light if you want to compare the two.
For me personally, I hated Dying Light and loved the heck out of Dead Island. I think the mood and atmosphere in Dead Island did it for me more. Nothing like being on a quiet Caribbean island that is thrashed and unsettling with the undead roaming around.
