Bloodlines 2 Delayed Again; Developer Removed

A Development Update on the Bloodlines 2 Website reveals another delay to Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2. Paradox Interactive also announces they are removing Hardsuit Labs from the project, which will continue on with a new developer. They cannot project a new release date, so they are no longer accepting preorders for the game. At this point, it almost seems like Bloodlines 2 is cursed, as it's already suffered a couple of delays, the removal of writer Chris Avellone following a scandal, and a previous shakeup of the development team. The latest delay is not a complete surprise, as it was foreshadowed in December. Perhaps the whole franchise is jinxed, as Troika, developer of the original Bloodlines, closed down before the game was even released. Here is the latest news:
As you have noticed, we’ve been keeping pretty quiet for a while. With this in mind, the first piece of news we have for you is to confirm that Bloodlines 2 is still in development.

Secondly, we have made the hard decision that Hardsuit Labs will no longer be leading the development of Bloodlines 2 - which also means that we will not be releasing in 2021 as previously planned. Since we cannot at this time communicate a new release date, we've also decided to stop accepting pre-orders for the time being.

This game is very important to us and it has been an ambitious project from the very start. In order to meet our goals for it, we’ve come to the conclusion that a change is needed and, as a result, more development time is required.

We’d like to take this opportunity to honor Hardsuit Labs for their efforts and thank them for their hard work on the project. The studio has done a tremendous job in laying the foundations for the game and we hope that you, the community, will also appreciate their contribution to Bloodlines 2.

We’re thankful for your continuous support throughout the game’s development. We understand how important this is to you, and we’d love to share more with you. As soon as we can, we’ll let you know what the future development team of Bloodlines 2 will look like.

Two things:

1. This franchise is cursed isn't it.

2. The 'good' (sad) endings for Cyberpunk seemed ambiguous as to what happens to V, it almost seemed like they made it that way either for an expansion or sequels in the future. Basically the way I see it, the 'secret' ending may end being canon, but then there are only two possibilities: A. Either he/she survived with some new advanced tech or B. V is loose in Cyberspace pretty much exactly like Ghost in The Shell.

I could see them re-adding stuff that clearly got cut before the deadline in a Director's Cut; i.e. apartments, cutscenes, the original default FemV. I'm not so sure they would be able to change story stuff.

I think people will refer to Cyberpunk 1 like Witcher 1, a cult hit. And down the line people will reference Cyberpunk 2 or 3 as the 'goat' or whatev.
True, in the Secret Ending there's still a way to for V to go off in search of a cure. I'm not so sure they couldn't change perspectives in the Endings (at least some).

At least the way I see this game is Early Release. It's one of the biggest selling games of all time and that's while it was still Broke. Once this gets running on Consoles (could be this patch v1.2 releasing this week) it's going to blow up the charts again. Sorry, my point was there's plenty of liquid cash for them to do whatever the hell they want and right now my guess is they want to kiss the ass of their customers. Kiss

Speaking of Vampire Redemption, if you haven't tried Age of Redemption your really missing out. It's the definitive Unofficial Patch.
The worst criminal in human history, undeniably.
Ain't no tweetin, in jail jammies!
