Hope they produce a very good PS5 VR, could be decisive for VR adoption !
Oculus Quest 2 with Link is a great step forward already.
Though the VR games and VR supported PC games, or even modded ones ( Doom 3 BFG Fully Possessed mod, wow ! ) are fantastic, I remain fixated in re-playing my hundreds of favorites from 2001 onward.
Learning to use VorpX methodically for *non* VR PC games.
Beware, YMMV per game, and you'll get much more from it if you put some effort.
But the benefits, if you do, are enormous.
- READ, understand and follow the instructions.
If they aren't there, copy the profile of a game with the same engine, and browse to the .exe of your game to link it.
Use the game scanner (Alt+L) ingame touching Del, available in some games.
- Obtain FOV fixes for the games is a *must*.
PCGamingWiki, PCGW, is fine for this.
Or use programs for it, like Flawless Widescreen.
- For full 3D inmersion you *need* to use 4:3 resolutions for best results :
1920x1440 for fine graphics.
Or at least 1920x1080 as a quality minimum.
Max for VorpX, is 2240x1680.
- For *Immersive Cinema* (miles better than 3D cinemas) 16:10 1920x1200 does it for me.
And then there is a more common cinema mode.
Leaving for later the already VR Fusion supported Serious Sam 1, "second", and 3, I tested my beloved more story focused silly/campy non VR Serious Sam 2 with VorpX.
Got sucked right in, playing it now.
