Okay, I think I figured it out. These shylock lawyers specialize in this crap, and they harvest suckers for class actions.

Here's a web form on their site asking if you think you might qualify for a class action against WebMd.com for making 'Secret Recording of Visitors Activity'. Sounds like exactly the same thing they're claiming about Intel.

That's the reason I sent it to Blue. Bizarre and uninformative article. That's our local rag here. Yeah, the articles aren't always well written.

I've been googling trying to find anything else on this, with no luck.

There is simply not enough information in the article to have a real grasp of what the claimed harm is or how it was supposedly accomplished. If the article is representative of the articles the site normally posts, I'd say they don't have much of a future.

I don't understand the Intel lawsuit at all, from the limited info in this article. It sounds like she's claiming Intel installed software "designed to monitor such things as mouse movements and clicks, pages and content views."

She claims this is related to visiting their website, which she visited 12 times.

First off, who visits the Intel website, unless you're a hardware nerd looking up CPU specs or reading press releases?

And why would Intel want to do what she claims? If Intel really wanted to spy on you, they could bury code in mobo chip firmware or microcode. What's the point?

And apparently there's several people suing. I'd like to see more details. Sounds like nonsense unless there's more to backup this story.
