My guess is the transmission rates from the orbiters back to Earth are very similar.
The statement was confusing. After a moments thought i understood what he probably meant, but others obviously didn't.
It could have also meant that he'd watched it earlier yesterday when NASA had a news conference and broadcasted it live.

I can't decide if you're just a glutton for punishment or simply ignorant. You are attacking a space program, which is literally looking for traces of life on another world, while at the same time the same country that is responsible for said program, spends trillions every year on the biggest military budget in the world, cuts taxes for the very rich, has little to no social welfare programs, has no social health care etc. etc. etc.
Out of all of those things, you want to cut the one thing it's doing right, and use that money to feed the poor?

My wife's friend's husband (both Canadians living in the US) has a great saying when it comes to Canadians attempting a "holier than thou" attitude: "Don't complain about the smell of pig shit coming from your neighbor's farm when the chicken shit on your own smells just as bad or worse."
