Rumor: Next Call of Duty Set in WW2

A tweet from a user named Victor___Z says that the next Call of Duty game will be set during World War II, and suggests it's being developed by Sledghammer. This is just an unconfirmed rumor, but Charlie INTEL vouches for the poster's bona fides, saying: "However, the leak, Victor_Z has known to accurately leak information in gaming, including Call of Duty. He accurately stated that the Black Ops Cold War reveal trailer back in August would include a 10 second MP preview, amongst other information he has shared in the past."

I'm still sick of the over reliance on using WWII, as the setting has been so overused that it's difficult for games to stand out. Other conflicts that have seen no / far fewer games: Iraq War, Annexation of Crimea, Syrian Civil War, Falkland Islands War, Arab-Israeli Wars, etc.

It's only been four years since Call Of Duty: WWII and Sniper Elite 4 and only three years since Battlefield V. I thought it was really bold for them to go with the Cold War setting in the recent game, especially the detail used to model a former president. The reviews have apparently been middling but at least it was something different.

Same here, but everybody/everything has to be so politically correct nowadays. Publishers are afraid to offend other countries, and this goes back YEARS. If you recall they had to rename the Taliban to "Opposition" in Medal of Honor 2010. More recently, BF4 was banned in China due to the China Rising DLC.
