I'm thinking I might just pivot and get an Xbox Series X since there's no chance in hell I'm getting a top end GPU anytime soon. I don't play many AAA games, but I'd like to play some of them occasionally at 4k.
I'd almost consider that but since I need a new monitor to boot, and I'm waiting for HDMI 2.1 to arrive in ernest and at a good price, I'll wait. I think both should be available widely and at MSRP within the next six months.
Didn't you just build a new PC?

Doesn't EVGA have a waiting list?

Wasn't the PS3 sold at a loss as well? I thought there were a few that had the same thing occur, and they relied on game sales to balance things out till it became profitable...
That's supposedly the business model.

That's what I thought too. They sell them initially at a loss, then as they age the prices of the chips etc. go down that they can even cut the price after the console is a couple of years old.
MS too... not just Sony.
