Normally I support PETA's basic intent, but like so many liberal causes, they are now going off the deep end. Just how does PETA think domesticated animals came into being? Cattle, sheep, horses, Oxen, chickens all used to be wild animals until man started capturing them and keeping them to perform work or serve as a food source.
Domesticating wild animals is OK in my book, but it does sound like this particular coconut operation is unnecessarily cruel.

I'll put it on my list for "when it comes to movie channels"...
It's a mashup of video games, Groundhog Day, and Edge of Tomorrow. All things that I love.I will watch it when it's available streaming, I'm done going to theaters, I think.
I am impressed with how shredded Frank Grillo and Michelle Yeoh are though, they are both 50+ ! Assuming CGI isn't involved with their looks.

I don't know if anyone is in the market for a scarf, but I found a company that transforms recycled products into wearable fabrics. They sell a recycled scarf that's getting great reviews for $68. They've put it on sale for $50. At checkout, I used the coupon code BYEWINTER to knock off 50%. From $68 down to 25 bucks.![]()
You’re probably familiar with our mission by now: for every product purchased, we remove one pound of trash from oceans and waterways. For us, it goes deeper than a one-for-one promise—we believe that businesses should be responsible for not only protecting the planet but also minimizing the impact they make in the first place.
For your purchase today, we’ll remove pounds of trash. Because a portion of each purchase funds our cleanups, they would quite literally be impossible without your support.
This is normally the part where we'd tell you to check out community cleanups near you, but those are currently on hold to help stop the spread of COVID-19; we hope they'll be back up and running in 2021! In the meantime, we love a good neighborhood or local park cleanup with our DIY Cleanup Kit.

In November 2020 Kaiser-Permanente was not giving N95 masks to the MAs that helped administer the COVID19 tests. That by itself is unbelievable but I was there, so yeah. The interesting part is the stupid doesn't stop there. The RN or LVN that administered the test was behind a plexiglass booth using a clean room type rubber glove setup. They had all the gear and the N95...behind the plexiglass. The MAs? We had a medical gown on over our scrubs, a level 2 mask, and exam gloves. Reminder, we are on the side of the person being tested, we are the the ones in the same room as the sputum that flies into the air when the patients inevitably cough or sneeze during or after the test. We would ask about a N95 and we would, with a straight face, be told that we needed a better union because the nurses and doctors were getting their N95s. *edit: remember, I was a student so the union comment wasn't just idiotic, it was intentionally saying "fuck you"
If I hadn't seen the N95s stored in various supply rooms I would have believed the stupid "we don't have enough" excuses because everyone kept telling me that "we need the nurses and doctors most so they are the priority". What a fucking load of crap. Does every MA in every little clinic need a N95? Of course not. Maybe the ones helping to administer the COVID19 tests should though....if not for their own safety, for the safety of the patients. I literally can't think of a dumber thing I have observed in a workplace I have been in. Ever.

In Feb we were told that you couldn't just pump out N95 masks because it takes 6 months to build the machines to make them. It's almost a year later, and still almost no N95 masks...
