Cyberpunk 2077 Patched

A new patch is now available for Cyberpunk 2077, addressing bugs and stability issues in CD PROJEKT RED's sci-fi RPG, and, as they put it "lays the groundwork for the upcoming patches." Word is: "In this update we focused on various stability improvements, which you can find outlined in the patch notes below. We will continue this work in patch 1.2 and other upcoming updates. At the same time we will keep fixing the bugs you encounter and listening to your feedback on how to improve the overall game experience." Here are a couple of PC-specific changes from the patch notes:
PC-specific

  • It will now be possible to obtain achievements while in Steam offline mode. Note: Offline mode needs to be enabled before starting the game. This change does not work retroactively.
  • Addressed the game startup crashes related to loading cache on NVIDIA graphics cards.

What are your specs? Sounds like a lot of world streaming issues. They have a special option to enable if you're still using a mechanical hard drive.

Core i5-9400f
RTX 2060/6gb
8gb DDR4-3200
Western Digital Blue 256gb SSD, WD Blue 2tb hd and WD Black 4tb hd

Yes, I have that setting enabled since I'm only running a measly 8gbs of RAM at the moment. I've dialed back on the graphics a bit and lowered the resolution from my native 1440p to 1080p and that has helped somewhat with the texture streaming performance (not to mention getting me closer to 144 fps for a solid vsync on my 144hz monitor). Will have to wait and see if the upcoming patches do anything worthwhile. Whatever

Patch 1.05 and nvidia drivers released at same time fixed all the graphical glitches for me. I used to have road disappearing and strange mouth/head movements but these two fixed it. Only game breaking I had was Jackie disappearing from continuation options (even after save, reload). That was patched.

My issue is the poor AI (cops and driving AI are really really bad, figbting AI is also grim). Ive finished it once (tested a few endings from the critical save path) and have left it there. Since then ive gotte RDR2 and ME:andromeda in sales, both of these have been better overall experiences.
Its not the cough that carries you off but the coffin they carry you off in.

I know, right? I've literally finished the entire game twice, and haven't run into a game breaking bug once. Lots of minor bugs, sure, but not a single one of them could be even remotely considered game breaking. For someone to run into 9, they'd have to be extremely unlucky, or making things up. Based on the fact they consider Dec 10 - Jan 22 "almost 2 months", I'm going to go with the latter.

Twice here, too. One "game breaking" bug - One of the Epistrophy quests got glitched out because I abandoned it halfway through, and from then after even going in that part of the city would get me stuck in a dialog I couldn't escape. Had to roll back a couple of hours progress. Not going to lie, it annoyed me.

Other than that? A Four CTDs, got stuck in geometry twice. Beyond that, all minor stuff, like a floating motorcycle, some glitchy physics, things like that. Certainly not polished, not even finished - so many places you can see where content is just missing or cut out. But it's not this unplayable disaster for me some people claim, and I'm playing on a 6 year old rig that wasn't' great when it was built.

I'm confident in saying this franchise is dead in the case of a CP2078. That's what rushing can do. I could be wrong, we'll see.

I was so hyped for this damn game! To be honest, I don't even know why! I guess just because it was an open-world RPG in a retro-cyber(punk) setting and since I'm an 80's kid and grew up watching all those 'dystopian future' movies, it was right up my dirt road. I totally geeked out on Blood Dragon too. I suppose it was also because Infinite got seriously delayed too, so it was the only substantial game on the release schedule that could possibly keep my interest for a few months. I hadn't been a big Witcher 3 fan and while I watched everyone rave about the story, I thought it was...eh. I guess just not my thing. I was sure CP2077 would be the game for me that the Witcher 3 hadn't.

And...well, to tell the truth, I still don't know if it will be. I started the game, customized my 'V'. (Really, no sliders?) And when doing the first mission after 'the montage', I ran into so many visual bugs that it got extremely distracting. I didn't get any outright mission breaking bugs but between the visuals fucking up and the PHYSICS fucking up, it was enough. Jackie disappearing, Jackie walking thru walls then disappearing. Jackie talking but his mouth not moving. Other NPCs not talking but their mouths are moving. DEAD, DECAPITATED corpses continuing to fight or running away. Like, this is the FIRST fucking mission, man! Did no one play this?! For some reason, I'm usually pretty lucky when it comes to visual bugs in games and I don't encounter them very often, much less pysics bugs like cars or npcs under ground or shooting thru the air like a cannon. But this game has it IN SPADES! You can be driving down the road and one of many, MANY things can happen...

1. Nothing.
2. The road disappears but you drive on as if it's there.
3. The road disappears and you fall about 20 feet down and continue on until you hit an invisible barrier.
4. The road disappears and you fall down to the infinite void underneath, never to be seen aga--oh, there you are!
5. Shot like a rocket clear across the map, landing into a hole of nothingness and falling into the infinite abyss...

I can go on. Even after all the work they did, this game was not ready for release! No one can possibly defend this. That's not even going anywhere NEAR the console versions, too! My god! I can still hear the screams of terror.

Until this game is sufficiently patched, it will sit in my STEAM library, uninstalled. I'll find something to spend my time on but it's not going to be playing 60 hours of this only to get a save corrupting bug and lose it all. I want to play it the way it was meant to be and this ain't it! Hopefully, in a few months, things will be different and we can maybe talk about an NMS-style resurrection. Until then, they have a LOT of work to do.

9 (or 8 I guess, now) game breaking bugs? Are you playing on PC?

I know, right? I've literally finished the entire game twice, and haven't run into a game breaking bug once. Lots of minor bugs, sure, but not a single one of them could be even remotely considered game breaking. For someone to run into 9, they'd have to be extremely unlucky, or making things up. 50 hours in, 0 game breaking bugs, 1 forced a restart - I exited a car, and couldn't do anything but run around the map. All interactions, pick up, entering cars, inventory, guns etc... stopped working until I restarted. And a bunch of minor ones that fix themselves and usually get a chuckle half the time.

Done all side gigs, organized crimes, assault in progress etc...

There are definitely things that need improving, but seeing "9 game breaking bugs" makes it sound like a hardware issue or BS.

That's the most effective way to fix performance is to downgrade the graphics.
I think this game needs a huge almost complete overhaul not a few patches that come out every few weeks.

I wonder if this has anything to do with RTX? I wonder if they made changes specific to RTX. I don't have an RTX card and don't play on Ultra, but I can't reproduce any of those things in 1.1

If you'd have seen the roadmap, they already had 3 hotfixes that adressed the most serious issues right after release. Patch 1.1 was delivered as expected by said roadmap, patch 1.2 will roll out shortly after. From there on there will be several free DLCs and later on in the ear a Next-Gen console update. IDK what you mean with 1 out of 9, but from the patch notes they mention multiple crash and instability issues being fixed with 1.1.

lol, did you just defend them for making a roadmap agreeing to his point entirely that the game came out a year early?

Ditto. That said, whilst it's 49.99 / $67 on Steam I've seen the GOG version steadily dropping at online retailers and it's now at 23.99 / $32. That's not bad for a AAA game so close to release.

However, I expect it will drop lower still and more patches are needed for me to want to jump in.

Nice, it says they not only fixed the bloated save game issue, but trimmed excess from existing saves as well. Not that that will help you if your save was already too far gone and unusable before now.

Problem I had was I had to invest 20 points into crafting and I've amassed 1000's of crafting parts and it's been bogging down my game pretty bad.

So can you actually pick things up now by aiming at them?

If you have that much just pick your favorite outfit or weapon and upgrade it in your crafting screen.

That's what I did and went and bought as many blueprints as I can find, and honestly just need to make 2 things a gun and a sniper rifle, beyond that nothing can kill you and you can 1 shot everything else.
