No surprise that parlor was able to find a home and will soon be providing deplorables with the worst the internet has to offer.

And three cheers to Twitter for silencing the loons.

Hosted by Russian servers. That should tell you all you need to know. At least it means that the CIA and NSA can spy without violating the "no spying on American soil" law.

There's also talk that Parler has been a Russian operation from the start. The main funder is a DE shell company that nobody knows who is funding. Parler owner Matze's wife is Russian, and her mother is a Russian government official.

Lastly, deplatforming works: there's been much less talk of "stop the steal" since the major social media purge.

Yeah 4K Netflix price has gotten absurd.
Disney+ when you buy for a year is like $8.50, 4K included... Netflix is now up to $18.00.

HBO Max (especially when combined with Hulu) is a great deal for the very nice content they have... TCM on there is totally overlooked but they have guaranteed good movies from all eras even from the 90s and early 2000s... people think of them as black and white westerns but the full collection is great. All the studio Ghibli movies, HBOs premium movie collection, HBOs original tv shows, adult swim, comedy central, etc. etc. ... and again 4K at no extra cost.

HBO Max is pretty awesome, among the current streaming services. Netflix has slowly become mostly their own shovelware shows, Amazon Prime rotates out good stuff quickly and has most good things moved to extra channels or rentals, Hulu has commercials, Disney, CBS etc. all have limited content.

They also have somehow convinced Warner Bros to release their new movies on HBO Max the same day they hit the theaters! Great in this plagued era, although to be fair, so far WW1984 was total shit. The sizzle reel was a bit unintelligible, but they did have some titles at the end, namely numero uno, Dune. At the very least, pick up HBO Max for a month at the end of 2021 for Dune.

It is a bit more expensive than the rest though. $14.99 or $15.99 or whatever.

It also feels like it's time for me to rewatch The Wire.

IIRC The Wire is on Prime, so no need for HBO Max if you already own Prime.

At least in the US when I look, The Wire is available to rent or buy on Prime at the moment, or if you have the HBO prime channel. That's hardly my only reason for having HBO Max or Prime though, I've been watching all sorts of new and old stuff on HBO Max, and Prime of course, is thriving from me buying everything I can to avoid going to retail stores.

If anything, I'm leaning towards cancelling Netflix finally. It's been awhile since I've watched anything I would consider good to great on that service.

Maher and Oliver are on HBO. Seems like there is some other long running series worth mentioning, but I can't think of what it is. I had it until AT&T screwed over Dish, been over a year now. I'm guessing it will not be resolved any time soon if ever. So, I have been considering signing up for HBOMax through Prime -- that would make it easy to access. Will probably do so sooner or later...

What a worthless sizzle reel. I couldn’t tell who or what was going on in 90% of it, so why would I get even remotely excited about any of it?
