Op Ed

  • Forbes - ‘Cyberpunk 2077’ Reveals Mirror Anthem’s Failures With One Change: It’s Still A Hit. Thanks Acleacius.
"And yet through it all, even if you can correctly call the launch of Cyberpunk 'disastrous' from a technical and uh, moral perspective, given the amount of deception involved, technically, we cannot overlook the fact that the game has achieved an entirely different end result than Anthem and others. It’s a hit. It’s a big hit, and unfortunately, I fear that that the takeaway for some, including the higher-ups at CDPR, may be that the ends justify the means."

The thing is it wasn't really THAT broken, not on PC at least. Janky, yes, buggy for sure, rushed: most definitely. But you could still play it from start to finish - my sister did so without encountering any really big bugs.

I got through the main story on a PS4 Pro without much hassle. It's definitely more buggy if you start pushing the edges or play extended sessions (3+ hours without restarting).

But first thing I also did was to turn off all the graphic options. I guess maybe some people consider the loss of lens flare and motion blur etc to be deal breakers...
