Out of the Blue

Deadline reports No Time To Die is going to be pushed back yet again, and the new James Bond movie is now targeting a fall release. I have mixed feelings about them continuing to delay the movie's release. I'm eager to see it, but I also prefer to see new Bond films in the theater. So I guess I can hope that things will change between now and autumn that will make me more willing to go to the movies to see this, as unlikely as that feels at the moment. So it's hard to say if I'm shaken or stirred by this news, but I just have to live with it either way.

Completely off topic for anything.. but I was wondering if anybody knows what happened to Creston? He commented pretty much daily until December 2019 and not a word after that!

Stupid click bait title -- they might suggest a single negative leap second.

Frankly, after reading about this I think we probably need to get rid of leap seconds, at least in the short term. The problems and potential problems simply are not worth the effort. Previously I suggested waiting until the clocks were "off" by 15, 30, or 60 seconds. Upon further consideration I think the lower limit before correction should be 60 seconds. In others words, long enough that either we will have lost the technology to measure time that accurately or it won't matter because every time keeping device of consequence will do the corrections automatically as needed.

Big fail for California -- picking a NY-style deli sandwich.

I would have gone for the lamb French dip from Philippe. They invented the thing.

Statistically, at least a few Bluesnewsers have gotten seriously ill or died from Covid19 by now. Or just other aspects of life intruding into video game website posting time, maybe nothing dramatic.

Maybe it doesn't really qualify as a sandwich, but I would have gone with a "Chicago-style Hot Dog" for the Illinois pick...

I've noticed plenty of people over the years who were once frequent posters but now are gone. Some died, some stopped caring about video games, and some changed their username. I had a different username when I first joined this site way back when it was launched

When nin went offline many people including myself asked blue to check in on him. Blue was able to get a hold of him and it turns out he's okay.
CJParker was cool enough to give notice of leave.
If you go to the stats page you can see how many thousands of users have made accounts throughout the years. I'm always amazed when somebody posts in a thread that I've never seen before and they joined in 2008 or 2003.

I used to like nin a lot - he and I used to troll Derek Smart together. It was awesome.

Uh, I mean, troll metaphorically. We never actually set a troll on him...

California sandwich is just so wrong. It's either vegetarian or something Mexican - taco. Nebraska...deep fried grilled cheese?!?!?! Holy shit, has anyone ever had one of those things? You could probably die happily after that and it would be a live well lived. Amazing there were only 2 vegetarian sandwiches on there. And no one has the PB&J as a state sandwich? That's gotta' be one of the most popular sandwiches on the planet!

Why won't you ever starve in the desert? Because of the 'sand which is there'.

The North Dakota is my favorite diner sandwich, next to a good club, blt or burger.

I am not so sure it is the most popular on the planet, PB&J sandwich is very much a North American thing.

But the real question is are you a real patriot and cut the sandwich diagonally after removing the crust like a proper human being? I mean add the potato chips to that PB&J or GTFO of here.

Sean Connery is dead, and so is Bond, imo. I loved Casino Royale with Craig as Bond. I think it's the best Bond film ever made. I thought that all of Craig's Bonds since that one have waxed measurably worse, however. It's too bad, but all things must pass.

If you really want to laugh so hard that you lose your lunch, try giving the first "Casino Royale" with David Niven a half hour of your life. I don't think you can watch much more of it than that...;) It really, really stinks--and that is nowhere near the criticism it deserves. As a "parody" it's so bad--more of a parody of Green Acres, imo. But if "Oh, dahling...how are you, dahling?" is your cup of tea, and you liked Za-Za Gabor in Green Acres--then you will probably like David Niven's "Casino Royale"...;)

Thank goodness the first Bond Novel, Casino Royale, was nothing like this movie--or we may never have heard of James Bond!
It is well known that I don't make mistakes--so, if you should happen across an error in something I have written, you can be confident in the fact that *I* did not write it.

PB&J is also a true American sandwich. It was invented in Boston.
