Out of the Blue

Deadline reports No Time To Die is going to be pushed back yet again, and the new James Bond movie is now targeting a fall release. I have mixed feelings about them continuing to delay the movie's release. I'm eager to see it, but I also prefer to see new Bond films in the theater. So I guess I can hope that things will change between now and autumn that will make me more willing to go to the movies to see this, as unlikely as that feels at the moment. So it's hard to say if I'm shaken or stirred by this news, but I just have to live with it either way.

Stupid click bait title -- they might suggest a single negative leap second.

Frankly, after reading about this I think we probably need to get rid of leap seconds, at least in the short term. The problems and potential problems simply are not worth the effort. Previously I suggested waiting until the clocks were "off" by 15, 30, or 60 seconds. Upon further consideration I think the lower limit before correction should be 60 seconds. In others words, long enough that either we will have lost the technology to measure time that accurately or it won't matter because every time keeping device of consequence will do the corrections automatically as needed.
