It's funny to hear ostensibly conservative posters calling for the repeal of 230.
Really illustrates how they'll believe whatever their dear leader tells them even if it's totally antithetical to their own professed politics.

You can chart the decline of political discourse and the rise of wack job violence with the rise of social irresponsible media. Nothing good has come from socially irresponsible media, except stupid cat pictures and inane 'here is what I am eating drivel.'

This mass moron infestation will continue to be a serious threat to civilization until 230 is revoked and social media platforms fall under the same rules as other media.

Well said. The cancel culture promotes ignorance and stupidity, imo. They enjoy banning speech they lack the ability to debate. They would have fit right into the old Soviet Union, the USSR. Hopefully they will share its fate.

So, I'm opposed to cancel culture when it's used pre-emptively to silence debate. This isn't that, though. This is a platform that was used to coordinate a violent insurrection based on a complete falsehood. There is no "debate" here, just a platform used to plan a sedition that failed to police itself.

Wow, that's amazing. These guys are scary good. Let's hope Biden doesn't provide them with any fodder.

By the way, that "epic" music in the ad is Two Steps from Hell's "Heart of Courage." Appropriate.

It's not imperial if we make them states. DC, Guam, Puerto Rico, and the US Virgin Islands should all be brought into the fold as full members.

Social media being shutdown entirely would be enormously beneficial for the human race. The past 10 years or so have shown that most people cannot filter out propaganda and lies at all, we're at the brink of death for the USA as a functional democracy as it is.

Then humanity can start working on cleaning up the televised propaganda. That'll probably take the rest of our natural lives.

No, Walt, it wouldn't.

In the USSR, like in China now, if a businessman (did such things exist in the USSR?) were to go against the will of the government leader, he'd disappear. Like Jack Ma did.

In the US, we have capitalism, where a businessman doesn't need to give special treatment to the President. You can call this communism all you'd like, but it's capitalism, through and through. You calling it otherwise comes across as if you simply don't know the difference and describe everything you dislike as communism or socialism without truly understanding.

The company said it issued the White House a warning for a violation, adding that it could face the same suspension.

According to her high school history and sunday school teacher..Sarah was not present for the AP History class and she didn't learn anything in Sunday School. Normally I am fairly meh on Twitter in general, it could come or go and I wouldn't care, but when comments like these come from the actual horse's mouth on Twitter I do find them absolutely hysterical even though they are probably not helping the national discourse in the way I would assume. (me: wait, she doesn't have even a foundational education in the subjects she most leans on? other people: it doesn't matter.) We don't pay teachers like we believe what they are saying anyway..amiright?
