WW84 was stupid and cheesy but wasn't that bad IMO. I'd rather rewatch it than many of the other DC comic book movies.
Yeah, me and my family have watched it on HBOMAX and we were kinda shocked how cringy it was at times. Good actors working with a bad script IMHO. I thought Kristen Wiig did a great job with her Cheetah character. This sequel was not good enough for me to recommend to anybody other than comic fans, but not bad enough to warrant Green lantern level disdain. Some of these corny superhero movies almost seem to get better with age so I will probably watch it again in the future.
I don't get the hate for GL. I love that movie.
The first 3/4 of GL was awesome. Then...it just all fell apart. The idea of Hammond and Parallax colliding with the newly-minted GL - it was like "How the HELL is he going to get out of this?" Then Hammond just dropped off the radar and one uncreative giant fist knocks Parallax into the Sun after like a dozen GLs didn't have the power to put him down (and honestly, he's at a power level where a star wouldn't bother him). Plus, Hal Jordan isn't a jokey funny man. He's usually a solemn straight man who might quip here and there, but I guess that wouldn't be as entertaining as Deadpool with a power ring.
As for WW84...it was dumb fun, with some massive problems and plot holes. Going from World War 2 and the God of War to a con man with wish powers and a not-great Cheetah was a big step down. You had to wait 98% of the movie to finally see Cheetah in her cat form, and it was so blurry, dark, and muted, you couldn't see jack (and her motivations were weak as a character, but so was Max's).
