If you think that is obscene, the 6800 XT from Asus goes for 1200€ here, that's for a MAYBE ORDER, not for a GUARANTEED ORDER

AMD is not the people's champion. No idea why people think AMD is out there 'fighting the good fight' by taking it Intel and Nvidia, like the Rebels taking on the Empire. AMD is not protecting consumers from monopolistic behavior of the industry leaders by matching or passing them, that's merely a result of finally delivering a more competitive product. It's a corporation that will seek to grow market share and maximize profits... even MSRP pricing from Ryzen and Big Navi shows AMD flipped the switch to be MORE expensive than the competition the second it got the chance.

The market is just totally nuts right now. 8 years old cards selling for up to twice their original MSRP, for example.
