LucasArts was founded initially as Lucasfilm Games in May 1983 by George Lucas as a video game development group alongside his film company. Disney has since revitalized the Lucasfilm Games brand as the licenser of all Lucasfilm-related properties. I hope Disney uses this as an opportunity to give Star Wars projects to the best-suited studio, or better yet, have studios compete for Star wars projects.
I expect this to be purely branding in an attempt at cashing in on nostalgia with no actual changes behind the curtain. Just an additional logo when you load up the games and some executives getting an additional title (along with a bonus).
With Ubisoft getting an open-world Star Wars game, and Bethesda getting an Indiana Jones games, that doesn't appear to be the case.
