I have to say, one of my thoughts early on after the riot was wondering this: If there had been the kind of law enforcement presence we saw around so many of the BLM marches, what would have happened? Would the protesters still have tried to force their way in? And if they still had, would there be dozens of dead rioters? If the result was dozens of dead rioters would that have been better or worse than what did happen?
When BLM protested in Washington earlier this year, here was the police presence at the Capitol. If it had been the same on Wednesday, none of this would have happened. It was an epic failure to take the threat seriously.
