Twitter and the rest of socially irresponsible media such poor posers.

Imaging if some corporation built a huge building in your town, and announced anyone can spray paint graffiti on the sides as long as they don't break a few rules, while they charge advertisers for placing advertisements above the graffiti. Painting is free, but people have to register and agree to being tracked 27/7 by some unseen unregulated surveillance system. Then the corporation sells the surveillance data to the highest bidders.

While raking in billions from this, and employing hundreds of thousands, they set aside 4 or 5 workers as editors to enforce the rules, which of course they can't keep up with, and they are instructed by management to give a pass to anyone famous for any reason. So some nutjob reality TV star starts painting pictures of the human anus and screeds with lies about almost everything under the sun and the corporations just puts a tiny sticker in the corner with a limp waste of words they call a label, that no one on the planet even looks at.

Sounds like Idiocracy has entered the building.

Twitters labels are fine except they only ever apply them to right wing Americans.
For example the CCP accounts can post the most outrageous bullshit right up to denial of genocide and covid conspiracies but Twitter won't label any of them.

This is the part where I find a Tweet that matches that description that is labelled, and you say "Well ok they label A FEW OF THEM, but not nearly as many as right wing Americans!" And then I go and pull up a bunch of random unlabelled right wing nutjob tweets and you abandon thread because you don't actually have any numbers and are pulling this viewpoint out of your butthole. But we can skip all that to save time.

I thought The Expanse had an ending, since it came from a series of novels.

The Expanse (novels) will have an ending, after the ninth and final novel is published.

The show... I don't see it lasting 9 seasons honestly. It's pretty good, very good really, compared to a lot of TV, but I don't see how they get through the next couple of novels' worth of material with a regular budget. I mean, I guess it's doable, but if they stay true to the source material it'll be some serious CGI and a LOT more characters.

Season 6 is already confirmed to be the last, so yeah. Hopefully they don't pull a GoT and just rush through some poorly developed mess...

It’s sad when a corporation has to label and correct lies and misinformation spewed by an elected official.
Sadder still is they let it spew its ignorance and propaganda for 4 years. Sigh

The total absence of critical thinking from his supporters is stunning. I'll never fail to be amazed by it. The left had no problem accepting that Trump won in 2016 because... he won. They may not have liked it, but they accepted the reality. I think a large percentage of Trump supporters will never accept that Trump lost, particularly to someone they seem to hate almost as much as Obama. Instead of accepting that they lost, they're further isolating themselves into fact-free echo chambers and that can only be a bad thing.

There was a pretty interesting article the other day about offshore betting markets' experience with this election. Apparently it was the biggest betting event in their history, with more money put in than the last two Super Bowls, and just a ton of money on Trump, even after the election.

...

Only after the election did bookmakers reach the “taking candy from a baby” portion of the proceedings. Mason tweeted the day after the election, when Trump’s odds at BetOnline were +525 and 80 percent of the bets were still coming in on Trump, “Our massive liability continues to grow.”

"Coyne will then start "a very slow, soft release process." Beave will spend time at a nearby pond and then hopefully find a mate and start a family of his own."

Do they know there are other beavers around there for certain? It's a death sentence for the little guy otherwise. Same thing with a ready supply of trees and saplings close enough to the pond for him to build a house safely. She's obviously well intentioned but I think I'd be looking for some actual beaver experts to help in his release.
