Yep it's the principle of the thing. There is also the miniscule chance that it might end up being not quite the thing. Also, will wait at least a week for the first day-week patches, etc. to get deployed. I got other things to play, no worries there. It's not like they're gonna run out of keys

Jeez, I envy your willpower. I pretty much recently bought top-end hardware just for Cyberpunk 2077 (needed an upgrade for future games anyway). Even if the game doesn't end up as good as it's hyped up to be, it seems like that CP2077 would be the perfect game to test out your 3090.

Seriously, I can't remember when hype has been this high for an upcoming single player game. From what I've seen of the gameplay, worldbuilding etc. it might even be justified. I guess no game lives up to the hype not really, but compared to stinkers like Bioware's Anthem for example, this game might actually come close.
They previously announced a Netflix Cyberpunk 2077 anime, so... close!

It's not the CE, just a boxed copy that comes with a GOG key and some other physical stuff. It's supposed to arrive on release day, but I'm not going to try playing it until I can manage to get a new GPU. I wanted to get a 3070 or 3080, but we all know how that launch turned out. My last hope was snagging a 3060ti at launch, but it was another shitshow of a release.

Honestly, expectations are so high, people cannot be anything but disappointed with the actual game in a few weeks. I suspect it'll still be really good though!
