When in doubt, ask people who are probably barely scraping by as it is, for money.
Churches have been doing this for years, why not random groups of strangers on the internet?
That said, they are basically looking for extra CPU cycles (once their business is set up). It's an interesting concept at least, and hopefully they will be crunching numbers for things more important than crypto-coins.
Good luck, I guess, but people will donate to mega church maniacs before they try to donate to a largely abstract concept about helping others.
