Out of the Blue

Happy Thanksgiving to those in the U.S. We picked up a small turkey last weekend that MrsBlue is in the midst of preparing, and we have plans to share the occasion with friends and family with a videoconference later today. This will provide some of the joy of having people over without having to clean the bathrooms (or wear pants for that matter), so this is actually something I could get used to.

Whether you are celebrating the occasion or not, here's hoping you have cause to be thankful. I certainly do. Despite how so many, myself included, have made references to what a horrorshow 2020 has been, I want to express my appreciation to those who have chosen to support the site through this difficult year. Your generosity is vitally important to keeping things going here.

I am also extremely grateful that I, MrsBlue, and our extended families have remained relatively untouched by the pandemic. This is an incredible blessing considering the suffering and loss so many have had to endure. Those who are not so lucky have my heartfelt sympathies. Words do not suffice.

Best wishes for the holiday, and here's to the possibility that things will return to some semblance of normal by the time next Thanksgiving rolls around.

Thankful Round-up
Thanks Ant and Neutronbeam.

Exactly
To blame this on any one president is to not look at the history of the US towards Vietnam.
Eisenhower set up the board pieces, JFK played with them creating a quagmire for LBJ and it was nothing more than a deadly & dirty redheaded stepchild by the time it was dumped in Nixon's lap.

Unless you lived through the late 60s' early 70's horror show that was the Vietnam War and the Nixon years you can't really appreciate this song.

The song gives thanks for those who stood up and resisted the whole dismal affair from day one. Now it gives thanks for being successful in shutting down that war, and eventually seeing Nixon and his dirty tricks crew go.

That is still something to give thanks for.

It was released in 1967 and I have always wondered how many inductees tried to do some kind of variation of the song at the processing center...

Happy Thanksgiving Mrs. Blue and Blue and all the Blues News Crew! I very much appreciate Blues News's contribution my news each day, and do find it a place of good reads, interesting comments and discussion(most times), and always enjoy the quips, Mrs Blue's and your show recommendations(Band of Brothers, Ms Maisel), and especially the Deadwood and Rome talk throughout the years! Thanks again!! Happy Thanksgiving to all those that celebrate this day. Be Well to all!
