Out of the Blue

Thanks to all of you who offered birthday wishes. I had a fine old time laying low after our shopping trip. Dinner was a whopping 2.25 lb bone-in ribeye that MrsBlue and I split, accompanied by store-prepared creamed spinach and packaged potato sticks. This made for a super low-fuss faux steakhouse dinner that took about 15 minutes to prepare. I nailed the medium-rare temp for the steak (hail Manstovia!) and it was all wonderful. I also didn't have to be concerned with how much wine I drank, since there was no drive home. I think this will be my birthday ritual from now on, as it was basically perfect.

Delicious Round-up
Thanks Ant and Neutronbeam.

AFAIK they are all producing AIBs ('add in boards').

Just that for the longest time nvidia and ati/amd have referred to 3rd party makers as 'add in board partners', or 'AIB partners', shortened to 'AIB's.

AIB is an "add in board". It's any graphics card that isn't a reference model.

Until recently, all graphics cards were AIB. nVidia has started directly selling "founders editions" before AIBs are available. In general, you can expect better performance out of AIB models.
Hmmm. I would have thought that even Founders editions would be add in boards as you add them into your system. So basically any Graphics card not manufactured by the GPU maker (nVidia/AMD) is an AIB?
AIB does not refer to the cards nVidia or AMD manufacture.
And it really doesn't refer to any other card you can stick in a slot, it's mainly used when referring to gpu's.

Gators are mobile, agile, and fast. If you live in an area with them it's safe to assume that you shouldn't be - or walking your pet - down by a waterline, especially one you can't see in to. That's just common sense. It's like going for a hike in a jungle known to be infested with aggressive poisonous vipers and not wearing snake boots. It's just asking for trouble.

DX500 Case

I do not like their web designer, but that is a great looking case, enjoy!

As for the gator, I thought the dog did have a leash in the video, or am I just thinking of the after shots? I would have done the same thing. Now the gator would have just eaten me, because scrawny nerd arms are not good for saving anything, but that is just another reason I don’t live in Florida...

Yeah! Mah CPU showed up today! So now I have my BeQuiet DX500 Case, Ryzen 5 5600X CPU, and my MSI B550 Tomahawk Mobo! Woot! Was worried the CPU was going to take a long time to get here but that was only 3 days. Noice! I hope the AIBs for the 6800XTs show up as quick!

So now I need to finalize on RAM and NVME. Thinking I'm going with G.Skill Trident Z Neo 32 GB (2 x 16 GB) DDR4-3600 CL16 Memory. For NVME I think I'm gonna just grab a 1TB Gen3 Western Digital SN750 for now and then get a Gen 4 2TB - or better - when prices come down on them in a year or so. The Gen 3 will do just fine for now. So Ima wait until Monday - for Cyber Monday - and hopefully they'll be on sale, but if not I'll pull the trigger anyway. Cool fucking beans.

Oh yeah, whilst I'm posting snaps. I made some crate shelving units a while back, check 'em out. I mainly made the large one to cover up the furnace. I just need to put a planter on top or something. Works well. And the smaller one is on wheels and has all my outdoor stuff, hats, mitts, etc. and critter food! Note my Home rug. Got that off Amazon. Love it, it really pops and matches the red for the units.

Goddamned straight. And yes, that guy is a typical Florida Man moron.

According to this report it was in his backyard. And they relocated the gator, so I don't know that it's fair to make is sound like that pond is an alligator infested waterway.
