700 hours? Noob. According to Steam, I have 2571 hours logged in Rimworld.

My boss has over 5000 hours in Civ V.
That's because it takes about that long to finish a mission/level.

I tried getting into Civ 6 (my first), and while I enjoyed it overall, it just required way too great of a time investment. I think I put over 5-6 hours into just the first tutorial mission, and I still hadn't completed it. I never went back after that single session.

IDk...time played on Steam games in kinda bogus as you can just minimize the game for days and never touch it and it will still count as time played.

And time spent in offline mode doesn't count, either. I often go into offline mode and then forget to go back online because im only playing singleplayer games/modes because I have no friends and hate people.

I don’t leave games running in the background nor would I leave them running in the background to intentionally pad the numbers.
I did use “off line” to my advantage once and got a refund after playing a game for more than two hours inside the two week window.

I'm almost always in off-line mode, my 350 hours of ONI is based on what the game itself says I have spent in the game. And there might be thirty minutes here and there where I walked away from the computer, but in general I do not leave games open if I am not playing them. Just a thing with me, I don't do it.

An argument could be made that the graphics in MC are stylish, while RW graphics are utilitarian. With RW, it's really the game play that's the draw. How many hours do you have in the quite similar Oxygen Not Included?
Roughly 350 hours in ONI, got my colony to cycle 1500 and kind of ran out of things to do. The part of the game I like the least is the survival aspect. It isn't quite as "pointless" as the survival aspect of Factorio but I'm equally ambivalent about it in both games.

I think it has a mode that significantly decreases the threat, at least as I recall if that's your main objection. It's been a while.

I don't understand dropping achievements. They make cross-platform games, and they are required to have achievements by both MS and Sony, so not having them on PC isn't saving them any work.

Haha! Sorry, but that's an insane amount.

Congratulations on finding a game you love (or falling hopelessly into a pit of addiction); Rimworld hasn't clicked for me so far, but I haven't tried it much since it was still in beta/Early Access.

I love the game but there is also something about it that is so incredibly zen for me. It's something I can play to unwind and not put much thought in to playing.
