Out of the Blue

If Friday the 13th is supposed to be bad luck, I don't even want to imagine what the 2020 version of Friday the 13th could hold. Seems like we should all be wearing bubble wrap.

Obituary: Peter Sutcliffe, UK's 'Yorkshire Ripper' serial killer, dies at 74.

Good question. Obviously not if they’re still having issues.
If I’m not mistaken in the Batman movie all of Banes lines had to be reworked and they were still unintelligible. That should tell you something about how Nolan doesn’t give a shit if the audience understands the actors.

I suspect at least part of the problem is Nolan fails to realize how much easier it is to hear/understand what someone is saying when you know what they are saying. Many, many times I have backed up the DVR in order to listen to something again. Sometimes I can only figure it out by turning on the closed captioning. BUT, after I know what they have said, if I play it again, I can then hear it. Obviously, Nolan ALWAYS knows what is being said in his films. Hence he mistakenly believes any viewer can also... all that said -- with the exception for one or two moments, I don't remember this being much of an issue in "Interstellar".
Does he also not screen test his flicks too?
That's what saying though... when you know what is being said, your brain convinces itself it can hear the sounds "you know" are being created even when you aren't actually hearing them...

Meh, I disagree. The man is an exceptionally talented genius, but sometimes he takes things too far.

I think it's a big problem with most modern movies and TVs. So many actors that aren't classically trained don't know how to enunciate and speak clearly. I can't even count how many times I have to rewind something because I'm all 'Wtf did he say? Stop mumbling!'

There's also an entire genre of cinema where not enunciating is part of the style: the so-called mumblecore genre.

15:46 | The possible hostage-taking at Ubisoft that triggered a major operation in Montreal turns out to be a hoax, our sources indicate.
That’s the latest.

Saw Interstellar in the theater. Yeah, there were a few places where the organ was so loud, I couldn't catch what the characters were saying. It was annoying. If the dialog was so unimportant that you drowned it out, why bother to have it at all?
