If I’m not mistaken in the Batman movie all of Banes lines had to be reworked and they were still unintelligible. That should tell you something about how Nolan doesn’t give a shit if the audience understands the actors.

That's what saying though... when you know what is being said, your brain convinces itself it can hear the sounds "you know" are being created even when you aren't actually hearing them...

Saw Interstellar in the theater. Yeah, there were a few places where the organ was so loud, I couldn't catch what the characters were saying. It was annoying. If the dialog was so unimportant that you drowned it out, why bother to have it at all?
