Fallout 76 Steel Dawn Next Month

Bethesda announces a December 1st release date for the Steel Dawn update for Fallout 76, their post-apocalyptic RPG prequel. They illustrate the news with a new “Rahmani, Shin, and Valdez” Reveal Trailer and offer some new details on what to expect:
Ad Victoriam, Vault Dwellers! The Brotherhood of Steel, led by Paladin Rahmani, are going to return to Appalachia in the Steel Dawn Update, which is coming to Fallout 76 on December 1. Alongside their arrival you will be able to experience the first chapter of an all-new Brotherhood of Steel questline, meet new NPCs, explore new locations, and even earn weapons and armor from the Brotherhood arsenal. Watch our latest Steel Dawn trailer to get acquainted with Paladin Rahmani, Knight Shin, and Scribe Valdez, learn more about their mission, and get a taste of what’s in store for you when the new questline arrives.

As with all of our updates, Steel Dawn will be free for all Fallout 76 players. If you would like, you can also pick up bonus in-game digital items by purchasing the Brotherhood Recruitment Bundle at launch. It will include items you can build to transform your C.A.M.P. into a stronghold that’s fit for a Paladin, like the Brotherhood Scouting Tower, Barricade, and Barracks Locker. You’ll also get the Brotherhood Reclaimed Power Armor Paint, Tactical Field Pack, and a Salute Emote so you can show off your dedication when you’re on the move.

The Brotherhood Recruitment Bundle will be available for purchase separately using real money, or as part of the Steel Dawn Deluxe Edition of Fallout 76, which also contains the full game. Keep an eye on Fallout.com for additional details about the Steel Dawn Update, the new Deluxe Edition of the game, and the Brotherhood Recruitment Bundle in the coming days.

Enh, I think I may come back for this. I recently uninstalled Conan Exiles after the last major overhaul. I think it's going to be a while before that all gets sorted out properly. Anyone else going to be there for this?

I still play just about every day. Some of my friends getting back into it as well currently.

Wastelanders really changed the game for a lot of people. And the recent rebalancing of enemies did as well.

I still wonder how people can spend hours in this soul-less version of a game wearing the torn off skin of an actual Fallout game. Even with the NPCs. I mean you have PvP scaling! Not to mention that horrific old Gamebyro engine that barely worked in the single-player Fallouts. Did they improve upon the one dimensional single solution quests of Fallout4? I sincerely doubt it. They would have to pay me to play this game.

It's certainly far from a polished Fallout FPS experience, but it has its unique charms. It's very fun in co-op. And it's also very fun (to each their own) to design your own home/base wherever the hell you want. Or if you just feel like packing up and moving and making a new base on a whim. You can.

I haven't played since diving into Wastelanders, and I don't think I'm ready to go back yet, but I hope it's doing better.

I will go back into FO76 to play this, going to be a pretty big change for me, they had the whole weapon/perks re-balance that I hear had a major effect on the gameplay. This game is quirky af, but imo it still is quite good and plenty of content to put a good month or two into it, well at least from when I last played which was up to about a month or so after Wastelanders update.

On top of of it, it's free, they say Dec 1rst. So Dec 8th would be a somewhat safe date.

I only picked it up a few weeks ago on sale, and my takeaway thoughts are -

The game brought the worse elements of the MMO genre (generic, bland quests) and survival genre (never ending thirst, hunger, sickness) and combined them with one of the worst UI's ever seen on PC. Add to that a limited storage space and the endless need to collect thousands of different items to be able to repair your gear and weapons that break after every second fight and you are left with a game that feels more like a second job. Oh, and the combat system (especially the gunplay) was below average at best.

It was a decent time sink during this crazy period, but that's about the only real praise i can give it.
