I don't even remember the last time a graphics card came with a game I actually wanted. 10 or more years ago? I am not sure it has ever happened.

I am not sure if that says more about me or the choice in games....

Bundled games are almost always crap. I got Watchdogs 2 with my last video card, which I didn't like at all. Got Watchdogs 3 with my 3080. I haven't played it yet, but the reviews make it sound like it's even worse than 2. This isn't a good sign for CoD.

I would take this over the godawful crap-fest that is watchdogs 3 that I got with my card. Ubisoft is really good at taking a step backward in their games and graphics.

Oh, damn I thought it was just a AMD processor, but sounds like it has to be the exact serial number.

No you're right, its just an AMD processor required to tie it to your account. I was saying that they collect a bunch of info though like the serial # so that they can track redemptions. Unfortunately there was a lot of fraud going on with the programs so that's why they're doing it this way now. It just sucks for end users like you and I.

I still have a Ass Creed Valhalla free game at Newegg, from my AMD Ryzen purchase. It only has about 8 days left before it expires.
There's no way I'm using it, with fuking denuvo on it (don't get me started on that ubi launcher ) and not to mention still think I've got NVIDIA Monster Hunter: World.
I'm not even sure I can trade or give away the Ass Creed, because AMD are being dicks.
They make you log in to make sure your machine really has a AMD processor before they will give you the code, afaik.
It's some real bullshit I've never heard of before. Why would they feel the need to prevent players from trading games. Middlefinger

There was a lot of code resale going on and a number of irate card owners who were denied because someone else redeemed theirs (fraud). Eventually retailers got fed up with this and now the codes are all managed by AMD/Nvidia who validate the hardware to help keep track of it, they pull serial numbers when you redeem.

I think it really sucks because often times its a game I already own and I can't even do anything with it.
Oh, damn I thought it was just a AMD processor, but sounds like it has to be the exact serial number.
I don't think the MHW has the same restrictions but it's been out for 2 years (still has denuvo), so most everyone probably already has it.
Damn, yeah that's really over the top, and trade has always been around. Well in the future I'll know not to be swayed by freebies I won't use or trade. Raincloud Urk

Could be worse... some retailers are giving away a year of GeForce NOW with the purchase of a 3070.

I can't personally think of a single use case that would necessitate that service. You have to already own a game from Steam or whoever, that game must also be on the GeForce Now short list as supported, then you sign into your GFN account with a computer that has super fast internet to play the game via cloud server.

When/why would I need to do that, if I just bought a new video card that can run the game in the first place?.... best part is that the free code will only work if it detects a 3070 in the system trying to register, so it can't be sold to someone with a slow computer that can't run the latest games.

OK , Seriously ! How the fuk does it matter when they admitted they have almost no cards available ??
EVGA is the only site even remotely giving a chance to buyers with their cue-based line system... but no one else has seen 1 card last longer than 2 minutes before bots have snapped them all up.
So literally they probably won't be having to give away more than ~ 100 games for free..??

Nvidia has seriously lost their mind this release...
A smart marketing move that won't cost them a dime, because if no one can get a card they won't have to give away a game.

Well the people who scalp them still include the free games in their ebay sale, and people are unfortunately snatching them up. It's not like the cards vanish from existence.
