Cyberpunk 2077 Delay Triggers Death Threats

A tweet from Andrzej Zawadzki indicates that CD PROJEKT RED's announcement of an additional three-week delay to the release of Cyberpunk 2077 has had the extremely unfortunate side-effect of inspiring death threats to the developers (thanks Eurogamer). Naturally he tries to counter this lack of perspective:
I want to address one thing in regards of the @CyberpunkGame delay.
I understand you're feeling angry, disappointed and want to voice your opinion about it.
However, sending death threats to the developers is absolutely unacceptable and just wrong. We are people, just like you.

Wow, people are crazy. I don't mind delays for quality releases. I'd rather have less issues!

I agree, and you'd think that the law would also agree with you, no matter what country you live in, death threats are usually quite illegal.

Problem is bringing this case to your local precinct and having to explain to them what the internet is...

Such a gulf between the dinosaurs running the establishment and the online mega tech companies running the world. All social media platforms need a fucking easy way to effectively report stuff like this. I'd vote for that regulation. Like the PS5 can let you record voip if someone's being super toxic. I fucking love it. These assholes have had it too nice for too long.

Not so much as cops are just fucking lazy and want their massive salaries and benefits for doing as little as possible. Instead of them doing actual police work, you have to gift wrap all the evidence, the offender's name and address, and maybe, just maybe they might do something.

Although you're painting with a broad brush, sometimes it's true.

Police told Jessica, and her mother Stephanie, that whoever robbed the home would have had to have entered with a key, since such large items were stolen and there were no signs of forced entry, Jessica said.

But the curious 12-year-old knew something wasn't right. Her parents were the only two people who had keys.

She asked her mother to take her to investigate a few days later.

"I went to the side of the house and looked at the garage," Jessica told ABCNews.com

"The windows were broken. There were finger prints by the glass. Everything was ramshackled. There were clothes everywhere."

Not only did Jessica find a crucial clue police missed, but she took it one step further by visiting a pawn shop down the street.

Sure enough, she found her great-grandmother's furniture for sale.

At least some of the officers know what the internet is since I see them surfing the Net in their patrol vehicles.

CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski on Cyberpunk 2077 delay: "The game for PC is ready and plays well on next-gen consoles and the company is finalizing the process concerning current gen consoles."

Slightly off topic, apparently the delay is caused by console concerns. On the plus side, the PC version is good to go, according to the above! Source

It's all part of the New Age dumbbell club...;) Don't like reality? Threaten someone with idiot violence, someone who has never said so much as an unkind word to you, and look up to see what shakes out. Hey, doesn't work? Duh....

I've heard it all, now. Appealing to the humanity of these morons doesn't work because they don't have any humanity, apparently. I think that CDPR should publish the threat(s) verbatim as they probably look like this:

"EYE keel U--Wheye do game cum late r? More deelay and eye keel all u game werkin' peeples! Eye no kiddie! Yous no game, U no leef! We keel all u!! P.S. Arngleesh is my nateeve tong, so, no treeks or teats! Eye no if yo nut sereeous, sam, and eye puneesh U alls and Eye/Wee keelz U all to deth! Grrr-r-r-r-r-rrrr!"

Definitely publish the threats and then open up a contest to anyone who can write a less believable, more idiotic, funnier 'death threat'!

Call it the, "Who Can Write The Funniest Death Threat?" contest.

Grand prize, worth ???: Your very own copy of our latest game, Cyberpunk, to be released when it is done!*

Sadly, pretty much anything triggers death threats on the Internet. There's no barrier to entry for threatening to kill someone, and virtually no chance of the police doing anything about it. The other one is telling people to kill themselves. We have a user right on this site who is fond of that one.

They ought to contact the people "We are sorry about this, for your troubles, please give us your name, email, Steam ID, and phone number. Then have their Steam ID removed. LOL
