Anno 1800 Land of Lions Released

Hakuna matata! Land of Lions is now available on the Epic Games Store and the Ubisoft Store, offering new DLC for Anno 1800, Ubisoft's historical strategy sequel for Windows. This is included for owners of the Season 2 Pass. But we'd be lyin' if we said there isn't something in this for all owners of the base game, as it comes along with a free Update 9 patch. Here's a Launch Trailer along with more on the game's sixth DLC and the new patch:
Inviting players to the region of Enbesa, Land of Lions is Anno 1800’s largest content release. Players will experience a wide range of new content including residentials tiers, buildings, gameplay mechanics and more.

Land of Lions brings an all-new dimension to the world of Anno 1800, inviting players to discover the Eastern-African inspired Enbesa in all its glory. Arid weather conditions bring an entirely new element to the gameplay, the Irrigation system, that will help players tame the unforgiving landscape of Enbesa, alongside the new Research Center that will encourage players to search and craft technologies and items or to make Major Discoveries to help them accomplish their goals. Players will be able to enjoy more than 10 hours of story content, entering the service of Ketema, the Emperor of Enbesa whom will task the player with building his new capital city, fending off foreign influence over his nation and learn more about Enbesa’s rich culture and history. Land of Lions brings new gameplay mechanics, Irrigation and Research Center, 2 new citizen tiers in Enbesa, 1 new citizen tier in the Old World, new production chains such as Hibiscus tea and telephones, 90 new buildings, 3 quests islands, 134 new items and much more.

In addition to the Land of Lions DLC, Anno 1800 will also receive the free for all Game Update 9 which is all about improving player‘s quality-of-life, giving them more relevant information and saving them many clicks along the way. Game Update 9 includes improvements often requested in the Anno Union, such as selecting a destination harbor for ships traveling between sessions, improving trade route menu functionalities and updates to the statistics overview and the newspaper system.

I'm a strange one in that I actually didn't enjoy Anno 1800, I grabbed the first season pass but playing that reminded me why I don't like this one.

I think it does too many things, I love in a casual slow manager building up cities and managing my supply chains, but Anno 1800 complicates it with farm ratios, worker balancing, population crown taxing, worker depot distribution costs, enhancing via items and oil, rail..then rebalancing with enhancements, item production...multizone item dependencies...etc.

I really liked Anno 1404 2205 and 2070. 2205 had to grow on me as it managed global distribution instead of goods transported, eventually I really got in to it

Wasn't this thing supposed to be available elsewhere than the Anti-Competitive Crap store after 1 year?

Not sure what you're talking about? It's been available on uPlay from the start, of course.

Do you still have to install the epic crap store to play it tho even if you buy direct from ubicrap?

No

I'm so confused. Why not ask if Origin or Steam is required? It's a UbiSoft game, they bought out BlueHole like 7-8 years ago.

I actually like the story in this new map... you can decide and do your own solutions to a lot of the quests, lots of choices lots of interactions and a COMPLEX as all hell escalation if you want to PUSH towards the research. Word of advice - don't pick small islands or you will suffer ;p

I've really enjoyed this game. It's got the Civ "one more turn" effect without being turn based. Not a game I would've tried if not for the Epic store. Ended up buying the DLCs from Ubi's store.

A buddy of mine that works at UBISoft got me this... I have to play it again... this DLC actually looks interesting.

On a side note, I deleted this game because it's so freaking massive. I think it's around 60gb... sadly that's become the new criteria for whether games make it on my SSD or not.

I recently started up Anno 2205 again for schnicks, too many late nights in a row, these games are like crack, except addictive.

A nice surprise however was that apparently I had unlocked all the DLC for it, they must have given it all away in an update, cause I never paid for it.

RTS games don't need season passes. You should get 1 major expansion pack like Brood War or The Frozen Throne and that's it.
