Technically, yes. However, work on JFO began in May 2016. JFO would have still been in development by the time EA purchased the studio in November 2017. EA could have scrapped the project as a single-player experience doesn't align with their vision, or they could have forced Respawn to bolt-on an MTX shop. Neither happened, which prompted the reasonable expectation that post-JFO, Star Wars, would continue to embrace long single-player experiences in addition to multiplayer ones. I was wrong. EA is EA, hence the facepalm.
