Out of the Blue

MrsBlue and I will make an outing today to get our flu shots. We're believers in doing this every year as a way of trying to safeguard our health. And various health organizations indicate this is more important than ever amid the COVID-19 pandemic, so we wanted to make sure to do this in a timely fashion.

Vaccine junkie? What does that even mean? You think there are people who are addicted to vaccines, who take them needlessly?

What? You mean every man doesn't ensure he gets the HPV vaccine?
I get my humane pabloma vacc, street name "pave, pax, packs", from a dude in the alley between 32nd and 33rd. He's normally chatting it up with the cute bouncer at Luckies Pool Hall and goes by the name Slick Rick.
But beware, his shit is bunk on long holidays so be sure to stock up.

This makes things so much clearer. No wonder.

If I could stop after one vaccination I would. But I’m not like other people.
Once I take one vaccine I’m off to the races, and it’s been that way since birth.
Opioids, eating disorders, alcohol and nicotine don’t have shit on vaccine addiction.
Ask any treatment facility and they’ll tell you that vaccine relapse is 97% more than those others.

today, just making conversation, my boss asked a few of us if we'd get the corona virus vaccine, and, shocker, the trump supporters in unison said 'NO'. what. the. fuck.

Trump supporters want to reopen the schools and the economy, and get things back to normal. The path to that is mask wearing and vaccines, neither of which they support. Trump could catch CV19 and die, and they still wouldn't change their minds. I guess there are some Darwin awards in there somewhere.
The trump virus is killing people and as long as his corruption is allowed to go unchecked more will die.
We can expect more utter stupity like the following;
"C.D.C. Testing Guidance Was Published Against Scientists’ Objections;
A controversial guideline saying people without Covid-19 symptoms didn’t need to get tested for the virus came from H.H.S. officials and skipped the C.D.C.’s scientific review process."

Pretty much. Just heard a couple of brief interviews on the radio of people who basically said, "I'm healthy, I take no medications, if I get it, I get it. I'm not going to turn my life upside down." They weren't interested in wearing a mask, getting a vaccine, or voting for anyone but Trump. *shrug* Whatca' goin' do...

I haven't gotten one since 1994 (when I was in the USAF), but I'll consider getting one this year...

If you were to skip a year, this would probably be the year. The flu should be pretty heavily suppressed what with all the mask usage, social distancing, and quarantining. I'm not recommending that you skip, I'm going to get my flu vaccination, I'm just making an observation.

Well, it had no noticeable effect on me when I was getting it while in the USAF, but obviously that was a long time ago. My exposure is certainly less than most. Food pickup maybe twice a week from a restaurant and an occasional grocery store visit being my only in-person interactions.

If your exposure to the public or social groups that interact with the public is low your chances of catching anything, let alone the flu or Covid are low. (obviously) Some people are naturally a bit more resilient to flu like viruses as well. If this is your first shot in a long time don't be surprised if your energy level drops for 24-48 hours. Normally I suffer no ill effects from a flu shot but this year I was in super sloth mode for like 2 days. not sick or anything, just really dragging. I have heard quite a few patients note the same thing. Not sure if its mental or physiological tbh, but whatever. Could just be that we are all choked for oxygen in these smoky California skies too.

Ugh, Mr. Tact! You should be getting it every year; enjoy the advantages of modern medicine!
*meh* Should have? Maybe. But I have had the flu exactly once. That or all but one time the symptoms were no worse than a normal cold. However, I am getting older and with the additional danger from COVID-19 the necessity has definitely increased...

In other news, in a bid to provide more clarity, Taco Bell announced that it is open until 1 AM or later to handle emergencies where you need more dog food and all the stores are closed.
