Good point on gamepass and MS is happy with that then so be it, so it will be hard for us to judge and understand. Unless you are a big Wasteland fan I don't know how one turns down the gamepass deal. Some say I want to own it a play it over again many times in the future. Well I can play it now on gamepass and a year from now get it much cheaper on sale.
Xbox Gamepass was the path that every one of my friends took on Wasteland 3. The only reason I can see to buy it outright was to use mods. I've read that all the Gamepass games will be severely limited with regards to modding.

inXile simply can't seem to make games that sell anymore. Wasteland 3 only made it to 6th place last week (launch was 8/28) and it's nowhere to be seen this week in spite of pretty decent critics reviews (86 MC average). Luckily it also has coop so publishers will hopefully not conclude yet again that single player RPGs do not sell anymore but it's still a pity to see WL3 fail at sales. It doesn't bode well for Microsoft's future plans with regard to inXile either. I don't necessarily mean shutting them down but the types of games Microsoft will greenlight.

Well it was a crowdfunded game so I would expect sales after launch to be a bit less than they otherwise would be. And also it's free on that Xbox game pass thing I think. That said, a couple more weeks in the top 10 would have been nice to see. I'm enjoying it so far.

People say they want to support, but again if MS is happy with me playing on gamepass (I have to assume they are, it is their offer) then I can't conclude that this is nothing but support. I think a fair opening comment is inXile just can't release a polished game day one, not bug free, but still polished. That to me is inXile's issue.

I'm enjoying it in coop, have to be very meticulous with saving to save oneself from a complete game quest reset, but doable. It's cluncky though, it has several small/medium bugs, it's also easy on Ranger difficulty, but I still like it. But nah I liked Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 much more overall, those games are just immersive while this is a fair storied tactical top down game.

I am quite enjoying Control. It's not a 10/10 game, but I'm enjoying the powers and I am a fan of Remedy's more slow-burn 'weird' horror games. Loved Alan Wake 1 & 2.

Exactly what I thought. It's a 7/10 at best!

Im playing through that Windows/XBOX pass thing. In fact the only reason I signed up for it was cos it was 1$ or something ridiculously low to try this game.

It's great. I'm loving it. In fact I'm enjoying it more than I did Fallout 3, 4 etc. Feels like a properly fleshed out world and story-line this time around. It's a bit simple in the beginning but seems to branch out nicely, although I will admit it is combat heavy.

Enjoying CKIII so far, doing better than I did with CKII, not sure why. I was able to unite Ireland with the tutorial for the first time which gave me some much needed confidence. I also found this YouTube-r helpful for how a person that's good at the game (not me!) plays it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GlGqM9HCWJk

Another good CK3 YouTube'r that is helpful (shows how to conquer Ireland): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iCc43BtQeYU

Thanks for these man! I'm a 300 hour CK2 vet but never been great at it. The few times i've managed to unite a decent kingdom I havn't had the skills to hold it together or protect it from forgein wolves. I'm not much of a people person, I think you need the kind of trumpish vinidictiveness to follow/remember people and their crimes against you to really keep up.

So I can keep the petty kingdom of munster together and hold 25-75% of ireland at any time but there is always a succession, invasion, evil faction ready to hold me back. If these videos get me past that hump I'll be happy.

Not that I'm complaining. I'm pretty sure real medieval dukes struggled to expand their holdings as well and history only really highlights the few that did. Such a good game. Much easier than CK2 to keep up with, but still difficult. My Dunbar number is much lower than most people. But I'm a shitty drunk Irishman it all works. The tutorial is perfect that is exactly where I went to learn CK2. Now excuse me I have to murder a cousin I really should have thought twice about marrying off to a sneak scottsman.

The price for Wasteland 3 is the biggest problem for me ... 60€ on Steam .. hell naw. The game does not look like a 60€ title and it has the Unity loading bloat problem and tiny area problem that was already a thing.. in.. ehm.. what was the name of the game.... or yeah, every other InXile and Obsidian Unity game ever.

Unity doesn't really work well for isometric games like this. And the game suffers from the setting too. If you made me choose between Wasteland 3 and Fallout 3, I know which one I'd pick... oh well

It's $60. Hell will freeze over, thaw, and freeze over again before I spend $60 on a Unity-engine game.

Who is going to buy post-apocalyptic games when we're living in an apocalypse?

I have about 1,000 hours in CK2 and I'm enjoying CKIII much more. This feels like a proper RPG now. I always play CK for longevity, not to conquer the map. The new game flow is so much more satisfying for this style.

I was gonna skip it until a decent sale but am playing it with xbox game pass. I did the game pass trial thingy to play MS flight sim last month and still have a couple weeks left. I might just keep game pass a couple months since $5 a month is easier to justify than $100+ for two games I probably won't play after a few months...

It has only had about 17K backers so I'd like to think that hopefully the risk of market saturation just by backers would be quite low Wink . But Xbox Game Pass is a good point especially when given the full $60 price tag of the game.
I'm glad you're enjoying it. I will be, too, once there is a patched and complete version in a year or so. Yes, I know it may sound a bit schizo lamenting poor sales and not buying the game either but I have way too many other games to finish first and inXile is one of those developers where the game only gets better with time so I'm going to continue contributing to poor sales for a while longer unfortunately.
