Agreed. If Scott never made his masterpieces (The Duelists, Alien, Bladerunner) I wouldn't hesitate to call him a hack. Other than the fantastic direction, more and more I've come to believe those films owe their greatness much more to other people rather than just Ridley Scott.

With Prometheus, and Covenant (the second of which only seems to have been made to kill Bloomkamp's Alien sequel project) his standard has really gone down the tubes.
