Call of Duty Cheat Vendor Apologizes (and Closes?) After Lawsuit

A post on Reddit captures a Discord message from CxCheats after the cheat vendor was sued by Activision for offering Call of Duty cheats (thanks PC Gamer). The website and their Discord have since shut down so the message is no longer available, but it offered an apology for the "pain" they've caused:
As some of you may know, Activision Publishing, Inc has filed a lawsuit against CxCheats.net and has made it clear to us that our services violate their Terms of Use. As a result of our lawsuit with Activision, we have agreed to cease development and support for Call of Duty related products or services sold through the site. These products will not be returning to CxCheats in any form. You should also be aware that using third-party tools in Call of Duty may result in suspension or banning of your account by Activision Publishing, Inc or the games developers. We apologize for any pain we've caused to players of Call of Duty.

It's amazing that this news isn't more common, Blues should have its own daily section of hack sellers being taken down. Videogames are multi-billion dollar industry, bigger than film and television combined. hack sellers directly attack that bottom-line. Why isn't there a more concerted effort on this front?

My guess is that the dinosaur legal system you have to navigate through is filled with non techsavvy people in general, so approaching any old lawfirm and asking for an injunction against this stuff might make their heads spin.

There should be a squad of lawyers who actually understand tech that can cut through this rather simple problem like a hot knife through butter.

It's not like an insurmountable problem. You'll never get 100% of hackers, but 99% of them are just script-kiddies who download something from a website that makes their aim perfect. That shit should be open and shut.
For your transgressions you shall be labeled a shill, called an idiot and anytime you mention facts or disagree with a tribe member you will henceforth be known as a troll. The best you can hope for is that the labels won't haunt your offspring. -RedEye9
