Yeah, but those people probably contribute the most interactions on those platforms. And if they are so easily swayed, they are also perfect consumers to be manipulated by said platforms. So FB, Twitter, etc would have to ban its "best" end-users.

Think of it like Coca-Cola and its world dominating Classic Coke. Most of us know excessive consumption leads to health issues, and those individuals who over consume get problems that snowball in our population to become a burden that all of us have to carry. Coca-Cola isn't on the hook for that, heck its actively trying to pay less corporate taxes... and all it wants is to own more real estate in every stomach around the world, even if that means pushing out totally normal, healthy food from a person's diet.

Social media clearly has negative side effects on individuals who consume too much, and those snowball to affect entire populations, and it's a burden we are stuck with. These social media companies are not on the hook, and it's not in their interests to decrease user interactions. All they want to do is own more of our communication, pushing out normal, healthier communication that humans have enjoyed since language was invented. Like talking face-2-face, physical and more personal communication with family and real friends.

That human interaction is being replaced with artificial interaction. Like water being replaced with sweet and brown, teeth-rotting, diabetes causing, delicious Classic Coke.

Mozilla has been flailing for years. They appear to have lost sight of what made them relevant and successful, tried to branch out into other stuff and failed every time, and have resorted to trying to force unwanted stuff down the throats of their dwindling userbase. At least they're not as obnoxious about it as say, Microsoft/Google/Apple, but it's gotten worse as they've gotten more desperate.

History may one day repeat itself with Chrome taking the place of Internet Explorer, Firefox taking the place of err ... Nutscrape Nadgrator?, and some as yet unknown upstart freeing the masses from Google's tyranny. But it will probably take a while.
