Trump's America! BOOM!

I kid, I kid. I am with you, I'm not so much into gutterpunk, either.

From what I've seen and read, the gutterpunk aspect is usually in the lower tier/poorer part of Night City (which makes sense) but the higher up you go, the richer the people are and the architecture seems to reflect this. This is also pretty apparent in the Lifepaths section of the video where the three Lifepath background origins reflects the different sections and atmosphere around and within Night City.

The Nomad lifepath has a more western/Mad Max feel to it whereas the Street Kid has the gutterpunk atmosphere. The Corvo lifepath background shows off the rich/corperate buildings and background sections that were more sterile and cold like something from Bladerunner or Deus Ex. They're all a part of Night City and it makes perfect sense that there would be a poorer part of the city and a richer part of the city as well. I would imagine that the main questline and side quests would have you traversing through all the sections of this city but picking a certain Lifepath would show off these specific sections right off the bat.

You definitely wouldn't want to start off as a Street Kid if you dislike the gutterpunk motif

Really? I found that aspect to be the most believable human quality about this game so far, based on real life 2020.

I find this strangely underwhelming so far. Really don't care for the low-life, living-in-the-gutter, heartless environs--where everyone is a selfish jackass of some kind. The colors are jarring--too much "look at me, see how ugly I am!" in the architecture--and the rap "music"--how awful that is...;) Hurts my ears--like pins in my eardrums..;) This looks like Fallout 3 & GTA--as bizarre a combination as one might see. This doesn't look like the CDPR I've come to know and love in the past. I will not be jumping on this one on release day. Missing Geralt greatly at this point. If it turns out to have a story with depth and it's not just a mindless shooter as it so often appears, with people unable to speak without constantly saying, "F*ck You" until you want to scream, I might pick it up. It's disappointing.
It is well known universally that I do not make mistakes--so, if you should happen across an error in that which I have written, please be assured that *I* did not write it!...:)

I agree. Kind of reminds me of the gun play in Deus Ex.
I guess shooting wasn't the main focus of this game, like it is in Borderlands.

For an RPG, it looks alright to me. This is no Doom and does not want to be your run-of-the-mill FPS.

The guns in Borderlands have a lot of feel, and that's an RPG. Even Mass Effect 2 and 3 felt pretty good.

I couldn't stop from skimming through the video a little bit, trying to avoid spoilers but of course I'm insanely curious. The game looks great! Hopefully it's reasonably stable on release, I don't know if I can wait a year for a GotY/all DLC version to come out.

Hollie B wasn't cute at all. I didn't watch the video seven times just for her, either.

Nope, Probably Nomad for my first (get to drive quicker) then Street Rat.

Yeah, Nomad for my first run as well. I'm not well-versed in the Cyberpunk lore so Nomad should be a good introduction into that world. Plus I liked the atmosphere that the Nomad intro in this video set up.
