Outage Update [Aug 05, 2020, 12:13 pm ET] – Share – Viewing Comments
Just want to give a quick update on the status of the outage at the Blue Tower. We are still without power or cell phone access, and the power company is not offering a time when things are expected to return, which is obviously not a good sign. It turns out there was a tornado in the area which explains the devastation. We're keeping our fingers crossed that things will return, and I'll try and let you know what's up as soon as I can. Sorry for the down time.

Just be safe. We'll survive without Blues a few days. Looks bad in some areas up there on the TV.
We're kind of used to being without power after a hurricane here in Florida. Five days without is not unusual even for a small storm, and our power companies are prepared for it. That's why I opted for a whole house generator when we build the new house a couple of years ago. Ironically, since then we haven't yet had a single outage. Only time we switch to generator power is every 2 weeks for 30 minutes for the bi-weekly loaded test. But it sure beats hooking up a portable generator and not having enough juice for the AC.

True, although I'm sure the power company will be quicker to get the ISP back up and running than all their retail customers. And I did say I was kidding...

Sorry to hear that things are still not good for you, Blue family. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that everything will be back to normal - or as normal as life can be in this Covid-19 time. 25 years of Blue's News and now THIS is happening - it's really not fair.

Glad to know you and Mrs Blue are ok! Since there hasn’t been any mention of it, I assume you didn’t suffer any major damage on your property (except the contents of the fridge). After hearing a tornado ripped through, that’s very lucky indeed!
