Atlantic hurricane season on pace to be one of the worst in recorded historyThe Atlantic hurricane season is on pace to become one of the worst in recorded history, forecasters at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center said on Thursday.
Forecasters have predicted an active season because of warmer ocean temperatures driven by climate change, but the 2020 season is on pace to break records.
The hurricane season, which runs from June 1 to Nov. 30., is set to have 19 to 25 named storms, with 7 to 11 of those storms to develop into hurricanes.
