Out of the Blue

We had our second co-op Borderlands 3 gaming session last night and had just as much fun as last week. It's still a little chaotic, and we can take some of the credit for that ourselves, but the game's design and style play into this as well. And one bug in particular doesn't help, as our player names keep disappearing intermittently. A little Googling tells us this is a known issue, and there doesn't seem to be a consistent way to fix it. It's a little frustrating, as you'd hope that one of the advantages of picking up a game months after launch would be that such annoyances would be cleared up already.

The Johnsonville brats are packaged in a fresh lock resealable pouch. Which I can only determine is code for unopenable without years of specialized training, skills, prayer and tooling.

wait if you can, especially if budget is a real constraint. likely you'll be able to save 20-30% on your build. but keep an eye on the market and if something you really want goes on sale, snag it. not everything you want will go on sale on BF, especially if it's a recently released item.
Thanks!

Predicting the future has never worked out for me.
If I was going to build a new AMD box I’d think long and hard on waiting for the 4000 series.
But if you want one now and can wait till November....
Thanks, great tip if I can wait.
Even then if I can't afford the 4000, there will be nice price drops on 3000s (well in theory).

Dumb question (my specialty), planning to build a new pc. So I'm wondering if waiting till black friday/cyber monday is worth the wait or are prices pretty good atm?
I'm just not sure how much I would save on something like a AMD Ryzen 9 3900X (maybe $100 less by then?)
On the other hand, it might be nice to have a new one now for HZD. Highfive

I really don't know my top 10, I'll need to review that. But there are a lot of movies that I didn't even find particularly good where I guess others did. It seems like stream series have just taken over.

Some faves that did little for me:

Get Out (overrated)
Shape of Water (too basic)
Mad Max (boring)

I like Into the Spiderverse, Arrival and Edge of Tomorrow, but those are really top movies of a decade? For sci-fi I like Interstellar more than the last two, Gravity (and wasn't as blown away as many) or even Prometheus to.

I liked some of the super hero movies, but again Top 10 in a decade? I dunno, I found better SH movies I feel in the 00's. Star Wars are watchable but I can't see how they are top movies of a decade, the characters too me were bland. Rouge One may have been my fave of the bunch.

A handful on the list I haven't seen, but want to. It's possible it was a poor decade for movies, perhaps it is just hard to bring something really fresh to the big screen.

Edit: Just reviewed a lot of lists, bad decade overall imo.

Some I like after doing a little looksee: Silver Linings, American Hustle, Green Book, The Revenant. No Tarantino movies?

I do not agree with the top 24 movies of the '10s at all.

There are some great movies in there: Edge of Tomorrow, Fury Road, Looper, Snowpiercer, Arrival, Thor: Ragnarok, Annihilation, Into the Spiderverse, Parasite. That said, any top list that doesn't include Scott Pilgrim is incomplete. Obviously.

Ha. Not even close. It will be back, the only thing that can possibly kill it is if the flying public actually refuses to fly on it. Feel free to disagree but I think the chances of that are extremely small.

What’s your top ten for the ‘10s?

Here’s mine
Wolf of Wall Street
Mad Max: Fury Road
Get Out
Inherent Vice
Lincoln

I think I've seen maybe 5 or 6 on that list. Annihilation was ok, Last Jedi was just trash, Wonder Women was decent, Spider Man into the Multiverse was pretty impressive once I got use to the animation framerate they were using. Still need to see Birdman and The Shape of Water and Get Out. Arrival was good but not for everyone, Mad Max I quit watching once they hit the sand tornado (does it actually get better?). SnowPiercer was ok, for some reason it really didn't do much for me (or Evans performance). And I would like to see The Social Network, but beyond that (the Marvel movies were good but not spectacular) anyone have suggestions off that list?

It is quite a mix. IMHO, there are great, okay, and bad movies in that list.

I was never big into any of the Borderlands, played them both and when 3 came out wasn't expecting much. There's a lot in there, very fun and definitely think it's an underrated game in this day and age of everyone being a negative cynical/critic/prick.
