Glad they're focusing on the important things, and continuing to ignore very basic store functions like a shopping cart...
Yup, I look forward to the time when I can by 15 or 20 games at once without having to buy them one at a time.

Do people still play games just for the games sake, or do they play for the achievements.
When done well, I really enjoy achievements. I don't usually seek out ones that aren't fun, and I don't really have a need to be a completionist, but some things are fun to get without trying, and others are fun to get by changing your play style.

According to the Bartle taxonomy of player types, four categories appeal to most gamers.
1. Achievers, also known as "Diamonds" (♦), are players who prefer to gain "points," levels, equipment, and other concrete measurements of succeeding in a game. They will go to great lengths to achieve rewards that are merely cosmetic.
2. Explorers, also known as "Spades" (♠) for their tendency to dig around, are players who prefer discovering areas and immerse themselves in the game world. They are often annoyed by time-restricted missions that prevent them from traversing at their own pace. They enjoy finding glitches or a hidden easter egg.
3. Socializers or "Hearts" (♥) are a multitude of gamers who choose to play games for the social aspect, rather than the actual game itself. They gain the most enjoyment by interacting with other players, and sometimes, computer-controlled characters with personality. The game is merely a tool they use to meet others in-game or outside of it.
4. Killers or "Clubs" (♣) is a very accurate moniker for what the Killer likes. They thrive on competition with other players and prefer fighting them to scripted computer-controlled opponents. In extreme settings, they also want to inflict grief and suffering upon others.
Yes, there's a thriving segment of gamers who are Achievers. For me, Explorers is my jam coupled with a great story.

MoreLuckThanSkill wrote on Jul 30, 2020, 12:11:I think it's interesting when easier-than-easy achievements like "finish the tutorial" or "defeat your first enemy" have like 85% completion.
It's rare that I deliberately try to complete achievements, but I do sometimes enjoy statistics to see how many people/what percentage of players have completed X part of the game. Usually most games are well under 50% of player base even finishing a game, let alone doing the harder achievements. I do like seeing some of the insanely low percentage achievements completed on my game through normal play though.
