Project Genesis Key Giveaway

8 Circuit Studios announces that starting today you have the chance to score a Steam key for Project Genesis, their upcoming first-person shooter set is space, where no one can hear you scream "Khaaaaaan!" Word is:"To earn your Steam key, simply create an account on the Project Genesis website and link your Twitch account. Then watch your favorite Streamer play Project Genesis for a minimum of 60 minutes when they have drops enabled." Here are some details:
Starting today, Project Genesis, a team based space combat & FPS genre mash up, will let viewers of Project Genesis streams on Twitch earn a chance to receive a free Early Access Steam key.

A sci-fi online multiplayer game, Project Genesis merges frenetic space combat in battle craft with close quarters skirmishes in first person using an unusual, but oddly gratifying, “breach and board” mechanic. The game draws gameplay inspiration from titles like Star Wars Battlefront II (2005), where players can play in two game modes at the same time depending on their preference of play: FPS or space combat. Once a giant capital ship is targeted for infiltration in space, players can use their battle craft to breach a cruiser’s hull and fight inside aboard decks in FPS mode, completing high-risk high-reward objectives. The opposing team must consider the attack strategies and counter accordingly.

I do. Often a lot more than just an hour. Reviews are just too untrustworthy now, so I judge for myself. I'm probably in the minority though. I imagine that most have a reviewer they like.

Since Twitch drops became a thing, I bet a lot of people just leave the stream running in another window with the volume down... But Amazon don't care, they get to count you an active user and rack up those minutes "watched."

I think you pegged it. I still enjoy AFF from time to time, but with no one playing, I'm glad there are bots to play with.

As for this game, the Steam reviews reveal it to be half-baked, so if that's a problem for you, sounds like you need to give it a year or two.

It's not any different from watching sports or a movie

Uh yeah it us. It's the difference between actually doing something interactive versus watching someone else doing something interactive. I'd much rather spend that hour playing an actual game than watch someone else do it. The only reason I watch - more like skim - Let's Plays or Reviews - is to see if I actually want to purchase said game. Otherwise I've got better ways to waste my time - like actually playing a game.

2 Reasons why I watch people play games on Twitch. 1)Not sure if I'm going to like the game or story, A lot of games these days butter you up in the first hour or so and fall apart, 2) Some games like the Dark Souls type games I simply hate playing but enjoy watching others play them. Or Scary games or some games with open water and sharks (even though I lost a bet and have to play through all of Alien Isolation and stream it due to a friend knowing I had these 2 phobias).
1. Just be thankful your friend hadn't heard about "Kill it with Fire."
2. Please provide a link to the livestream, so we can all enjoy.

And yet you watch football. Shouldn't you be outside playing football instead?

I agree more on the side of , " I'd rather play something than watch someone else do it,"... but with the dwindling lack of demos put out by companies for a person to try a game & the increase prices of said games -- I admit I occasionally watch people play stuff I am interested in .

I don't enjoy playing Dark Souls but watching twitch.tv/northernlion play DS2 with commentary is a great diversion, don't knock it till you've tried it!

No they don't. Twitch is not actually a thing. You could ask PewDiePie about this if you could find where he parks his yacht.
