Starting today, Project Genesis, a team based space combat & FPS genre mash up, will let viewers of Project Genesis streams on Twitch earn a chance to receive a free Early Access Steam key.
A sci-fi online multiplayer game, Project Genesis merges frenetic space combat in battle craft with close quarters skirmishes in first person using an unusual, but oddly gratifying, “breach and board” mechanic. The game draws gameplay inspiration from titles like Star Wars Battlefront II (2005), where players can play in two game modes at the same time depending on their preference of play: FPS or space combat. Once a giant capital ship is targeted for infiltration in space, players can use their battle craft to breach a cruiser’s hull and fight inside aboard decks in FPS mode, completing high-risk high-reward objectives. The opposing team must consider the attack strategies and counter accordingly.

Watch someone play a video game for an hour? People actually do this?

It looks like Angels Fall First, but on a bigger budget.

It's not any different from watching sports or a movie
Uh yeah it us. It's the difference between actually doing something interactive versus watching someone else doing something interactive. I'd much rather spend that hour playing an actual game than watch someone else do it. The only reason I watch - more like skim - Let's Plays or Reviews - is to see if I actually want to purchase said game. Otherwise I've got better ways to waste my time - like actually playing a game.
2 Reasons why I watch people play games on Twitch. 1)Not sure if I'm going to like the game or story, A lot of games these days butter you up in the first hour or so and fall apart, 2) Some games like the Dark Souls type games I simply hate playing but enjoy watching others play them. Or Scary games or some games with open water and sharks (even though I lost a bet and have to play through all of Alien Isolation and stream it due to a friend knowing I had these 2 phobias).
